Snap!
The handle under those slender fingers broke into pieces.
Hearing the sound, Long Er looked toward the King on the throne. He saw veins bulging on his forehead, as if he was trying hard to endure something, suppress something. A powerful dark aura lingered around him.
The King didn’t speak, so no one dared to move. They didn’t know whether the person lying on the ground was alive or dead.
Just then, the person on the ground moved.
The sharp-eyed people in the stands were the first to notice, exclaiming, “She’s moving. She’s still alive.”
“What!”
Gesang suddenly stood up, no longer caring about Feng Chi on the throne. She shouted, “Yutang, stand up. Stand up.”
The people around her seemed to be infected, and one by one they stood up, their eyes fixed on her.
“Stand up.”
“Stand up.”
…
The calls instantly ignited the entire arena, each one louder than the last, echoing through the sky.
The person on the ground supported herself with one hand, then, as the weight of her body lifted those scarred, even bone-riddled hands, she collapsed again, instantly raising a cloud of dust.
Gesang burst into tears. “Yutang, stand up.”
Bei Yutang felt dizzy, but a voice in her head told her not to fall, never to fall.
She had to live, live.
The calls echoed in her ears, like a thin sliver of light peeling through her dim vision, allowing her to see clearly ahead. With the unyielding spirit within her, she gritted her teeth and rose to her feet.
Everyone watched Bei Yutang’s staggering body rise before their eyes. The process was long, like watching an elderly person trembling and shaking.
She finally stood up.
Gesang wept with joy.
Feng Chi, seated on the throne, breathed hard as he gazed at the blood-soaked, teetering figure. His deep and dark eyes were fixed on her, unable to see anyone else.
His heart ached, as if it were being ripped apart.
Bei Yutang looked at Feng Chi, her eyes crimson, stained with blood. She gazed at him with a cold, unyielding gaze, her voice hoarse, “I win.”
The figure on the throne vanished, reappearing before her.
Bei Yutang remained calm as she stared at the sudden appearance.
Feng Chi stared into those unyielding and clear eyes. They were truly beautiful, breathtakingly beautiful, so beautiful that he couldn’t bear to kill her.
However, he knew that if he didn’t kill her, she would sooner or later become his weakness, his deadly poison.
Feng Chi reached out and grasped her neck. With a single push, it would end her life.
Bei Yutang sensed the murderous intent emanating from him, but she remained calm, asking, “Are you going to break your promise?”
Being stared at by those cold and piercing eyes that seemed to see through his innermost thoughts, his heart trembled slightly.
He was afraid to meet her gaze.
He stretched out his hand to shield her eyes.
A bitter smile tugged at Bei Yutang’s lips, a low chuckle escaping her mouth.
That laugh was like a pair of hands, tightly gripping his neck, choking him.
It hurt; the pain in his heart grew deeper and deeper.
Bei Yutang closed her eyes, waiting for death to come.
She knew that she no longer had the strength to resist.
Life or death, it was all decided by him.
