MDMP Chapter 4.2

Zhao Jingcheng fell asleep quickly, but Zhao Suisui couldn’t sleep.

She sighed sadly. It was definitely impossible for her mother to take her and her brother back to the capital.

After carefully recalling what she could remember, she and her brother were fine, but the most dangerous person now was her mother!

So, she must guard her mother well and not let her bad Dad harm her!

Zhao Suisui suddenly felt that she had a heavy responsibility on her shoulders. She opened the door and ran out.

Feng He had just finished taking a shower and was wiping her hair in the living room. Zhao Suisui glanced around and found no sign of Zhao Haoyang.

“Who is he?” Feng He put down the towel and pinched Zhao Suisui’s cheek.

“You go to your room first. Mom will be there soon.”

“No.” Zhao Suisui refused.

She didn’t want to take a step away from her mother, what if her bad Dad comes back again?!

Perhaps it was because her mother always had a reassuring scent, Zhao Suisui gradually became sleepy, and after a while, she fell asleep holding her legs.

Feng He stopped what she was doing, carried her into the room, and placed her side by side with Zhao Jingcheng.

When Zhao Haoyang came back, the room was quiet.

He carefully opened the door and saw his wife and two children sleeping quietly on the bed.

Sitting quietly next to them, facing the sleeping faces of several people, he couldn’t get tired of looking at them.

Feng He, mother and two children slept until noon.

When she got up, Zhao Haoyang had already gone to the canteen and returned with food.

After lunch, the family of four planned to go to a supply and marketing cooperative not far away to buy some missing daily necessities, rice, and flour.

In the afternoon, the family courtyard was very lively. Many children were playing games in the open space. There were boys lying on the ground playing marbles, girls playing skipping rope and hopscotch, and some running around playing eagle and catching chickens.

As two new faces, Zhao Jingcheng and Zhao Suisui suddenly attracted the attention of some children.

Feng He stopped and asked them both: “Do you want to play with everyone?”

In the past few years in Beijing, in order to protect the children, the two children were detained at home most of the time and had few playmates. Now that they are in the family home, Feng He naturally hopes that they can make more friends.

She thought that they would immediately run to play, but Zhao Suisui shook her head and said, “I want to be with Mom.”

Zhao Suisui laid her head on Zhao Haoyang’s shoulder and looked at the children having fun in the open space.

Actually, she kind of wants to play, but Mom is more important! Alas, she really paid too much for this family.

When she looked away, Zhao Suisui suddenly noticed a little boy sitting on a tree on the other side of the clearing.

He didn’t play with others. He just sat in a tree and was in a daze.

As if he noticed Zhao Suisui’s gaze, the little boy turned his head away, leaving her with the back of his head.

Zhao Suisui blinked, feeling like she knew him, but couldn’t remember for a while.

On the other side, in the shade of a big tree, several women were sitting, picking up the soles of their shoes, chatting, and looking at the running children.

Seeing Zhao Suisui’s family, some people couldn’t help but say: “Look, those are the family members of Deputy Commander Zhao!”

“Oh, it’s true. Those two children are so good-looking and fair. They are not like my little dog Dan, who runs wild every day.”
