Su Li’an hesitated and did not speak. In his understanding, old men all had beards, but this uncle did not. Why should he be called grandfather? Grandfather meant old man, right?

The glass greenhouse is located on the side of the villa. It is usually taken care of by the gardener of the ecological park. The greenhouse is full of lush vegetation and bright flowers.

The glass walls around it are open for ventilation. Although the sun shines directly, it is not too hot.

Her workbench was under the shade of a crabapple tree. Red petals were scattered on the large solid wood table.

She learned that the entire villa, including all the rooms, bathrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms, would require about twenty vases of flowers in total.

Occasionally, there would be people, who had separated from the main family or were on good terms with the family, come to visit.

To Su Yi’s surprise, Mrs. Xu didn’t come often. Even if she did, she wouldn’t always meet her son. Sometimes she would just learn about Sheng Yunzhou’s recent situation through Uncle Gu or Aunt Qin.

But every time, she would chat with Su Yi for a while.

In the first few days after Su Yi and Su Li’an moved in, except for meeting Sheng Yunzhou once on the first night, they never saw him again. Su Li’an even asked Su Yi privately whether the uncle had moved away.

Until the morning a few days later, it was a good day. Although the sun was shining, the temperature was not high because of the wind and was quite comfortable.

Su Yi was cutting the thorns of the roses. She looked up accidentally and saw Sheng Yunzhou sitting on the balcony of his room.

The two of them looked at each other across the glass roof of the greenhouse. Su Yi waved to him as a greeting, and Sheng Yunzhou nodded slowly.

That night, Sheng Yunzhou appeared at the dining table. He was still pale and looked sick, but at least, he had stopped coughing.

Aunt Qin’s face was filled with joy, and even her steps were much lighter than usual.

She wanted to show off her culinary skills, but unfortunately, Sheng Yunzhou’s weak stomach prevented her from fulfilling her wish. Only a bowl of porridge and a few light side dishes were placed in front of him.

Su Li’an was very curious about him. Several times he secretly looked at him when he thought no one was paying attention.

Su Yi remembered that when she first came, the little brat had just lost two relatives, the two elders of the Su family, and was almost abandoned by his own mother. He was a pitiful little thing, taciturn, introverted, and stubborn.

“Is Uncle sick?” Su Li’an asked in a low voice.

“When I was sick before, I could only drink porridge.”

“Uncle is not sick. He is cured.” Su Yi said.

Su Yi scooped a spoonful of shrimp for the child and saw that he only ate the shrimp and left the corn kernels, so she said: “Talk less, eat more, and don’t be picky.”

Su Li’an said ‘Oh’, obediently picked up the corn kernels, and ate them one by one.

Sheng Yunzhou sat at the other end of the dining table, drinking his porridge slowly and glancing at them occasionally. Before he knew it, the porridge in his bowl was empty.

After Aunt Qin cleaned up his bowl and chopsticks, she turned around and called Mrs. Xu to report.
