FMLRWS Chapter 562

Leng Minxing’s expression darkened.

Hearing her words, the two elders realized that they might have overstepped.

Luo Xi had already made such a concession, agreeing to this one drama and not pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

They didn’t really want the couple to divorce. Their threats were merely meant to discourage Luo Xi from continuing in the entertainment industry.

Just as Old Master Leng was about to say something to ease the mood, Luo Xi said, “Anyway, I’m fine just being my husband’s wife. Who cares about being a young madam? Let someone else do that.”

Everyone: “…”

Leng Minxing’s mouth twitched several times.

“I think you’re just being unreasonable!” Lin Xuan couldn’t help but retort.

Luo Xi met her gaze with a look that said, “Yes, I am being unreasonable. So what?”

“Alright, alright. Since Xixi has also said that she will only participate in this drama and won’t pursue a career in the entertainment industry, we shouldn’t be too harsh on her. Let’s leave it at that,” the old lady said.

Hearing this, several people who were about to speak up could only close their mouths in frustration.

“I hope Miss Luo can keep her word and not end up slapping herself in the face later,” Leng Youran said coldly.

“Don’t worry, Auntie. I don’t hit myself while slapping others’ faces,” Luo Xi replied with a bright smile.

Leng Youran’s eyes flashed with a hint of coldness.

This Luo Xi was indeed not easy to deal with.

Old Master Leng cleared his throat and continued, “The second matter concerns the relationship between the Bai family and Minxing. Last time, due to some things, the relationship between our families became a little strained. Now that we’re all at the same table, let’s resolve everything at once.”

After hearing this, the parents of Bai Yaya exchanged glances, and then Father Bai stood up and said, “Last time, Yaya lost her temper and said some offensive words to Minxing and Miss Luo, which made Minxing angry. For that, we sincerely apologize. We came here this time to sincerely make peace with you. We hope you can forgive Yaya.”

“Yes, Yaya has been spoiled by us since childhood, and her temper is a bit fiery. She often can’t control her temper, which led her to say such things. I hope Minxing and Miss Luo won’t hold it against her. Yaya, get up and apologize to your brother Minxing.” Mother Bai urged her daughter with a glance.

Bai Yaya stood up, her face flushed with embarrassment, and said apologetically to Leng Minxing, “Brother Minxing, I really didn’t mean it. Can you forgive me?”

Leng Minxing glanced at her darkly, his tone steady as he replied, “The person you should be apologizing to isn’t me.”

Bai Yaya’s expression stiffened slightly.

“What’s wrong? It seems Miss Bai isn’t very willing.” Seeing her embarrassed expression, Leng Minxing raised his lips mockingly.

Father Bai and Mother Bai felt a bit offended upon hearing this. After all, Leng Minxing had always been just a junior to them, yet now he was being so disrespectful to them.

But now they were at a disadvantage and had to lower their heads.

The most important thing now was to maintain a good relationship with the Leng family.

Previously, Leng Minxing had suddenly pulled his investment, which had significantly impacted their company. The stock market had been plummeting, and many partners believed that they had offended the Leng family. They were afraid that they would be dragged down with them. As a result, they began to refuse to cooperate. This left the Bai family in a state of panic, and the situation became dire.

If the Leng family didn’t help them, it wouldn’t be long before the Bai family was excluded from high society.

At that point, their situation would be worse than the Luo family, whom they had looked down upon.

Both of them understood that taking a step back could lead to a big picture.
