Wang Yaru choked, looking at Luo Xi’s smiling face. Her expression turned strange.

Was this girl really so naive? Here stood her man’s former fiancée and her family, but Luo Xi was still smiling.

Feeling a little frustrated at not having achieved her desired goal, Wang Yaru urged, “Let’s head inside quickly. The old lady and the old man are waiting for everyone.”

The group nodded and followed her into the Leng family’s living room.

The old lady and the others were still seated at the main table. The table was long enough to separate the two elderly people from the younger generation, who sat on either side.

This time, however, everyone was dressed formally, sitting upright, creating a serious atmosphere.

Luo Xi took a deep breath and was about to sit down next to Leng Minxing when Wang Yaru spoke up, “Oh, Xixi, you should sit next to the old lady. That seat belongs to Minxing’s father.”

Her voice was loud enough to draw everyone’s attention.

The luxurious long table was nearly filled with people, some of whom Luo Xi didn’t recognize. They had only seen her at previous family gatherings, and upon hearing Wang Yaru’s words, they couldn’t help but look down on her.

She had been married into the Leng family for so long, how could she not even understand the most basic etiquette?

In the Leng family, men and women did not dine together. While it wasn’t always strictly done, it was expected during formal occasions when the elders were present.

Women were to sit beside the old lady, while men sat next to the old man. They were arranged according to family hierarchy. Higher status meant a seat closer to the front.

“Go on, don’t be afraid.” Leng Minxing cast a cold glance at the gloating Bai Yaya, then comforted Luo Xi by patting her hand.

Luo Xi hadn’t expected such a formal occasion today. Although she had heard about the strict rules of the Leng family, she had rarely visited the old residence in her previous life, and Leng Minxing had never urged her to learn them. Thus, she was completely unaware.

This level of formality was a first for her.

She nodded apologetically at Leng Minxing, feeling she had embarrassed him.

However, Leng Minxing didn’t mind. Seeing her cautious look, his heart softened and ached. He couldn’t bear to watch his woman suffer even the slightest injustice.

“Sit next to the Second Madam,” Leng Minxing gently reminded her and patted her shoulder.

Luo Xi nodded.

As she moved away, Leng Minxing’s eyes fell on Wang Yaru, whose smile had vanished.

Wang Yaru’s expression grew increasingly stiff.

Leng Minxing withdrew his gaze indifferently, but in his mind, he put Wang Yaru on his blacklist.

He could overlook their disdain for him or their dissatisfaction, but if anyone dared to bully Luo Xi, then don’t blame him for being rude.

The people around who originally wanted to mock her found themselves unable to laugh in the face of Leng Minxing’s cold expression.

“Xixi, come here.” The Second Madam’s seat was empty on both sides. To the right was the old lady, and to the left was Leng Youran.

Luo Xi understood Leng Minxing’s intention. Everyone was watching her, curious about which seat she would choose.

Meanwhile, Leng Minxing took a seat beside the old man, and no one dared to comment.

But for Luo Xi, everyone knew how much the old lady valued etiquette. Sitting at the front would normally be acceptable, but Wang Yaru was still present.
