FMLRWS Chapter 299

She felt a surge of joy on her face as she pushed the door open to step inside, but her smile froze when she saw someone she didn’t want to see.

“Luo, Miss Luo is here too…” Her tone was somewhat unnatural.

The last time she had tried to set up Luo Xi only to embarrass herself was still clear in her mind. She thought Luo Xi wouldn’t come here. She didn’t want to openly seek out Leng Minhang at the Leng’s house, so she had come to the office instead. She never expected this woman to be here, sitting and eating with the man she liked so intimately!

Her hands subconsciously clenched tighter under her sleeves.

Luo Xi looked at her indifferently, too lazy to even muster a smile.

Bai Yaya stood awkwardly, stiff in her spot.

“Is there something you need?” It was only when Leng Minhang spoke that she recalled why she had come today. Biting her lip, she said worriedly, “I heard that Brother Hang is back. You’ve been away for so many days, I was worried and wanted to come see you.” With that, she walked in, covering her mouth in surprise at the feast on the table. “Wow! You even have my favorite hairy crabs and crayfish! I didn’t expect Brother Hang to be so nice to me.” She exclaimed excitedly.

Suddenly, the food in Luo Xi’s mouth lost all its flavor.

Luo Xi put down her chopsticks, realizing that Bai Yaya’s visit was likely why Leng Minhang had prepared this meal.

If she hadn’t come, it would have been Bai Yaya sitting here eating instead of her!

“Miss Luo, would you mind if I joined you? Before you came, I often went out with Brother Hang to eat crayfish and hairy crabs. Brother Hang knows I love them, so he always took me to the same place. This must be from there too. I remember it very clearly. Such a nostalgic taste.” Bai Yaya said, feeling satisfied with herself.

Leng Minhang instinctively glanced at Luo Xi.

No matter how dense he was, he knew that Luo Xi must be feeling uncomfortable right now.

As expected, the other party had put down her chopsticks and the bowl in front of her was untouched. She simply stared at him, making Leng Minhang feel a bit guilty.

God knows that back then, Bai Yaya was just like a younger sister to him, and those outings were just casual.

But hearing it from Bai Yaya’s mouth made it sound different.

“Miss Luo, why aren’t you saying anything? Do you mind my being here? I just wanted to see Brother Hang,  have no other intentions.” Bai Yaya suddenly looked at Luo Xi, her expression anxious.

“If I minded, would you have come?” Luo Xi finally redirected her gaze towards her.

Bai Yaya was a bit taken aback for a moment, then awkwardly smiled and said, “I didn’t think Miss Luo would be so petty. After all, even if Brother Hang and I can’t become a husband and wife, we can still be friends, right?”

“No, I do mind!” Luo Xi coldly stared at her.

“You…” Bai Yaya was somewhat angered by her merciless words and turned to Leng Minhang with a grievance. She complained, “Brother Hang, I just wanted to see you. Does Miss Luo really have the right to deprive me of that? Isn’t she being too domineering?”

“Well, if there’s nothing important, you don’t need to come by anymore.” Leng Minhang said and lowered his gaze as he continued peeling the crayfish in his hand, speaking in a flat tone.

Bai Yaya’s eyes widened in shock, looking at the man she had liked for many years, seemingly unable to believe he would say such cruel words.
