When she got up this morning, Ah Wu noticed that Baowa’s temperature was a little higher than usual, but not much, so she left the two children at home to recuperate.
Anyway, now that Kuang Aijun was back, leaving the children at home could also help enhance the relationship between father and children.
She rode her bicycle to school as usual, but on normal days, she should be the first teacher to arrive at this time. Who would have thought that today, for the first time in history, other teachers had already gathered before she arrived at school?
“Teacher Ye, good news!”
“Teacher Ye, the results of the arithmetic competition are out!”
The Principal came forward with a laugh and asked, “Guess what good results our students have achieved?”
The Principal kept the answer a secret, but looking at his expression, Ah Wu knew that the results of this competition should be good.
“One first prize, three third prizes, and the remaining three students also received participation awards. No one came back empty-handed.”
The Principal’s face was flushed with excitement. This was the best result he had achieved since he started teaching, and it was also the best result since the establishment of Hongxing Commune Primary School.
You should know that this was not a county-level competition, but a competition for outstanding students from all primary schools in the city.
Because this competition was more difficult, there were only two students who scored full marks, which meant that there were only two first-prize winners, and one of them was from their Hongxing Commune Primary School, which was enough to prove the high teaching level of their school.
Of course, the Principal felt guilty when he thought of this. He understood that the students were able to achieve such results thanks to Ye Wu, a serious and responsible teacher. He and other teachers did not contribute at all to this matter.
Even when Ye Wu was going to take the children to participate in the competition at the beginning, they were very pessimistic and said a lot of sarcastic words.
But at this moment, the excitement covered up the shame. Every teacher’s face was filled with excited smiles.
“This time, the county primary schools only got out one second prize, one third prize, and five participation prizes. In terms of results, it is not as good as our commune primary school.”
“When I went to the Education Bureau for meetings before, I always couldn’t raise my head in front of the principals of the county primary schools. The next time I have a meeting, I have to have a good chat with them and exchange our teaching experience. Teacher Ye, you must come with me then.”
The Principal couldn’t help but feel happy when he thought of being able to hold his head high in front of people who once looked down on him.
“Teacher Ye, Teacher Ye, I got first place in the exam.”
The students who arrived at the school one after another also knew their own results, and they surrounded Ye Wu, crying and laughing.
“Teacher Ye, I won the third prize. I should have listened to your careful inspection before, otherwise, I could have won the second prize or the first prize. I will be careful next time.”
“Teacher Ye, I won the participation prize.”
“Teacher Ye, thank you.”
The children expressed their gratitude to Ah Wu one after another.
The subsequent impact of winning the award was far more than that.
The Hongxing Commune was one of the more mediocre ones among all the communes.
When the fields increased greatly that year, the leaders of the commune were timid and did not dare to falsify the data. They just reported a figure that was neither too high nor too low, which made the leaders above dislike them for a while and was also laughed at by people from other communes.
This commune was not the one with the most fertile fields among all the communes in Baihua County. It did not have its own specialties and crafts like some communes, nor did it have mountains or rivers to back it up, with a large amount of forest resources and aquatic resources.
This was a very mediocre commune. Every year, the leaders of the commune would scratch their heads to write a relatively excellent annual summary report.
This time, the Hongxing Commune Primary School achieved better results than the county’s No. 1 Primary School in the city’s arithmetic competition. This was a good result for the principal and teachers of the Hongxing Commune, and also for the leaders of the commune.
After all, the donkey carts that were used to pick up the children to participate in the competition were specially approved by the commune.
Besides, this was not just an ordinary exam, but a crucial exam to get the advance admission for primary school students to junior high school.
