FSC [QT] Chapter 72.5

Arc 4: Raising Babies In 60s (13)

The world she lived in now was a novel?

This sudden idea was very strange.

Ah Wu smiled at Zhang Youdong and Jin Qiaoqiao, then sat in an empty seat beside her, putting on the silent attitude of a widow, and absorbed those strange memories with peace of mind.

In these memories, Jin Qiaoqiao was the heroine of a rebirth novel.

In her previous life, she married a man who died shortly after marriage and was bullied by her in-laws.

Later, because of her poor judgment of people, she fell in love with an educated youth.

After the return to the city’s movement began, she was abandoned by the educated youth and lived a miserable life.

Finally, when she was bedridden, only Zhang Youdong, who had become a big boss, appeared and paid for her medical expenses.

After rebirth, she changed her marriage partner and married Zhang Youdong. She fought against the evil in-laws all the way, stepped on the scheming green tea bitch, lived in love with her husband, and reached the peak of her life.

In this story, ‘Ye Wu’ was the scheming green tea bitch who made people hate her in the second half of the book.

The hero of the novel, Zhang Youdong, was supposed to be the husband of ‘Ye Wu’, but after Jin Qiaoqiao was reborn, she chose to marry this man in order to change her miserable life.

The heroine’s behavior caused some criticism from readers. As the heroine, her image must be bright. Therefore, in order to whitewash the heroine and rationalize her behavior of snatching other people’s husbands, ‘Ye Wu’ was portrayed as a green tea bitch.

In the novel, Jin Qiaoqiao always regretted her forced behavior, so much so that after Kuang Aijun died, Jin Qiaoqiao helped ‘Ye Wu’ and her children countless times in life.

Perhaps because of Jin Qiaoqiao’s persuasion, or perhaps because of sympathy for the widow of the sacrificed comrade, Zhang Youdong also cared about ‘Ye Wu’ and the two children.

After he was demobilized and returned to the local area, he also helped ‘Ye Wu’ arrange a job as a primary school teacher.

Such a scene was naturally very dazzling in Jin Qiaoqiao’s eyes. Because she knew that this marriage was snatched by her, and ‘Ye Wu’ was Zhang Youdong’s real wife.

Seeing the two of them getting closer and closer, Jin Qiaoqiao couldn’t help being jealous and even wanted to divorce to make them happy.

But, Zhang Youdong only took care of ‘Ye Wu’ as the wife of his comrade-in-arms and had no other thoughts about her. How could he be willing to divorce his beloved wife?

So, the two of them quarreled because of ‘Ye Wu’ and then reconciled, and then they quarreled again after reconciliation.

Until later, the two of them realized that everything seemed to be a trick of ‘Ye Wu’. It was the other party who designed them to misunderstand each other.

Jin Qiaoqiao felt that her painstaking efforts were in vain. She felt guilty toward ‘Ye Wu’, but ‘Ye Wu’, who had lost her husband, coveted her man so that guilt naturally disappeared.

Readers also complained that ‘Ye Wu’ was a green tea bitch and mistress and speculated that Zhang Youdong might not like her in his previous life, but Jin Qiaoqiao who was helped by him in the end. It was a pity that the two of them had no fate in the previous life, and now everything was just returning to the right path.

The novel had a rather bad ending in the later period.

Ah Wu didn’t know what the fate of ‘Ye Wu’, a vicious female supporting role, and her two children who like to steal the father of the heroine’s child would be.

In short, there would be no good ending.

Ah Wu broke free from that memory and glanced at Jin Qiaoqiao and Zhang Youdong with an obscure expression.

She didn’t believe that ‘Ye Wu’ was like what was described in the novel.

The characters in the novel were too paper-like, but she, who had inherited all of ‘Ye Wu’’s memories, perceived ‘Ye Wu’ as a three-dimensional image.

Ah Wu felt sorry for this girl. Her life was clearly taken away by someone, but she still had to bear such a stigma.

She looked up at Jin Qiaoqiao who was standing beside her.

Did the other party really feel guilty? Was she really as pure and kind as described in the novel?

Ah Wu didn’t know, but she knew that a truly kind person would never push other people’s lives into hell in order to save her own life.

The so-called guilt was just hypocrisy.

Translator’s Comment:

Agree so much!!!

How could she shamelessly snatch other people’s husbands?

And she said that she didn’t expect Ye Wu to marry Kuang Aijun? So, what’s wrong with it?

The matter is she snatched Ye Wu’s husband. So, whoever Ye Wu married, it’s still not her ‘original’ husband!!!

Besides, she already knew that Kuang Aijun would die, so why didn’t she just remind him so that he could be careful, instead of snatching other people’s husbands?

She clearly has so many options, but she just wants the person with a bright future and says that it is her last resort.

  1. Mia says:

And I think there’s nothing wrong with that, she’s a person, she has the right to be selfish and strive and grasp the things that she think will benefit her the most. But you are right, it’s just the way that she is thinking that annoys me, if only she can admit that she is selfish and she is hurting others to gain benefits than I can admire her viciousness, instead of feeling such fake guilt.

+1 people are flawed. it’s human nature. now, if she continues to make excuses for her actions and judge people with a villain’s heart… tsk tsk
