For a whole month, people in the capital watched a drama with ups and downs, talked about the inhumane story of the Marquis of Changping Mansion, and lived a happy life every day.
Although Ling Yaodong refuted the rumor until the end, many people guessed the truth.
It was likely that Ling Zhuo was indeed Ling Yaodong’s adopted daughter, just as the rumor said.
This also indirectly confirmed why Ling Zhuo was the eldest daughter, but the palace chose Ling Wu as the Third Princess’s companion.
It was likely that as early as when he first knew that his daughter was taken away by mistake, Ling Yaodong, the old fox, had privately reported the truth to Emperor Qian.
The second branch completely broke up with the first branch. When they went out to visit guests, Mrs. Xiao Wu would not hide it for the first branch.
Therefore, when Ling Yaodong and Mrs. Fan refuted the truth, the fact that Ling Zhuo was an adopted daughter who took over the magpie’s nest became a tacit understanding in this circle.
The high-ranking families were unwilling to marry this woman of impure blood, and the poor families did not dare to marry into the Marquis’s mansion.
The matchmaker who used to visit Ling Zhuo frequently after she was nine or ten years old suddenly disappeared.
Fortunately, Ling Yaodong and Mrs. Fan were firm enough in their attitude to the outside world. Ling Zhuo’s name was still on the Ling family tree, as if they were reluctant to part with this daughter that they had raised since childhood.
Therefore, when they were visiting outside, no one dared to bully her in front of her face.
Gradually, as time went by, no one held on to this matter anymore, except that Ling Zhuo fell ill again after that incident.
After recovering from the illness, she became much calmer and more sensible, and more and more like the appearance in Ah Wu’s memory.

Five years later—
“That person is going to be elected. I want you to arrange for someone to be placed next to Young Lady Ling after she enters the palace.”
Five years later, the Fifth Prince, who had been ignored by Emperor Qian, was finally allowed to participate in government affairs the year before last.
It was still the abandoned yard.
Li Chenghe looked at Yu Yan and said in a low tone.
“Young Lady Ling?”
Yu Yan’s eyes darkened and his voice rose slightly.
“Yes, the Sixth Young Lady of the Ling family.” Li Chenghe nodded.
Ever since the news of Ling Zhuo and Ling Wu’s identity exchange spread, the status of the two sisters in the hearts of the princes had undergone a dramatic change.
The First Prince and the Third Prince who were originally interested in Ling Zhuo turned their attention to Ling Wu, the biological daughter of the Marquis of Changping.
Even the Seventh Prince, who had just got married last year, also intended to use this to win over the Marquis of Changping.
Only Li Chenghe didn’t think the same with these people.
He understood how difficult his current situation was. He could not marry the biological daughter of Marquis Changping. But if it was an unidentified adopted daughter, he would have some room to operate.
Ling Zhuo had been taught by a young lady from an aristocratic family since she was young. Eleven years had passed, and a great change had happened. Her determination must have become even stronger.
Moreover, even after the truth was exposed, the Marquis of Changping and his wife still raised her by their side and announced to the outside world that she was their own daughter. It could be seen that the couple still had feelings for Ling Zhuo.
Li Chenghe had met Ling Zhuo several times. He felt that to some extent, the two of them had a similar quality, that was, a woman who could stand side by side with him.
“The Sixth Young Lady?”
Yu Yan lowered his head slightly. Because he was covered with a hood, only his delicate chin was exposed.
When he heard Li Chenghe talking about Ling Zhuo, Yu Yan couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
If the person Li Chenghe chose now was Ah Wu, Yu Yan couldn’t guarantee whether his alliance with him would still be as solid as it was now.
But if it were Ling Zhuo, she was also his biological sister.
“Good.”
Yu Yan nodded to indicate his agreement.
Five years had passed, and the power he controlled was far beyond the imagination of the outside world.
Moreover, the harem was the territory of eunuchs like him, so it was no problem for him to place a few people around the beautiful girls who entered the palace to participate in the draft.
It was just that Yu Yan was able to do this without leaving any trace, so Li Chenghe entrusted this matter to him.
The general draft is coming soon, and Xiao Wu will also be among the beauties participating in the draft.
Thinking of his sister who had become more and more beautiful over the years, Yu Yan couldn’t help feeling a little dazed.
Soon, she will become another man’s wife and bear children for him.
Her future will be broad and wonderful, but it will not belong to him alone.
