DD Chapter 61

 

Yuan Long dropped Dudu off with the teacher and paid the kindergarten fees, making sure everything was okay before leaving.

 

The teacher led Dudu into the classroom and clapped her hands to quiet down the children, then introduced, “Children, we have a new classmate. His name is Yuan Yifei, nicknamed Dudu. Let’s welcome him.”

 

The children responded immediately, applauding and curiously looking at Dudu.

 

However, Dudu’s attention was focused on the two children below because his little brother was here, and even Tiantian was here!

Thinking this, Dudu decisively sat next to Tiantian, showing her a bright smile and patting her shoulder, “Donut, we’re going to be tablemates from now on. We need to help each other and learn to share.”

 

Tiantian thought what Dudu said was really nice. Blinking her big eyes, she nodded vigorously, her dimples becoming more apparent.

 

She leaned close to Dudu’s ear and whispered, “Dudu, where were you last time? Why didn’t you come to the amusement park? I brought a magic wand for you, but I couldn’t find you.”

 

Dudu, feeling slightly guilty, said, “I’m sorry. Last time I went home with Mom, and I didn’t tell you.”

 

Tiantian nodded understandingly, “It’s okay.”

 

Dudu nodded seriously, glanced at Tiantian’s little bag under the table, cleared his throat, and asked hesitantly, “Donut, do you still have the magic wand now?”

 

Tiantian shook her head, “I didn’t bring it today. Can I bring it for you tomorrow? I have it at home.” Dudu immediately nodded, “Okay, okay.”

 

At this point, the teacher clapped her hands, “Children, no talking. Now the teacher will tell you a story. Please listen carefully, okay?”

 

The children responded in unison, “Okay~”

 

Dudu also followed suit, shouting along with the others, imitating Tiantian’s posture, hands behind his back, and listened attentively to the teacher telling the story.

 

After telling the story, the teacher taught them a few simple numbers. Soon, it was eleven o’clock , and it was time for lunch at the kindergarten.

 

Dudu’s eyes lit up, finally, it was time for lunch. Mom said the food at kindergarten was delicious, and he could eat it soon.

 

Dudu excitedly followed the teacher to the dining hall. None of the other children could keep up with his pace. He was the first one to sit on a chair, eagerly looking at the teacher.

 

The teacher felt that this child was probably hungry and hurriedly served each child a meal.

 

There were four dishes in total, two meat dishes and two vegetable dishes, accompanied by a bowl of rice.

 

But Dudu found out that there were carrots and greens in the dishes, which he didn’t like at all. This made him furrow his brows, wondering why they were cooked like this. Wasn’t the food at kindergarten supposed to be delicious? Carrots and greens were not tasty at all.

 

Fortunately, the other two meat dishes were more to Dudu’s liking, which barely comforted him. Without further ado, he quickly scooped up a spoonful of fragrant diced chicken and stuffed it into his mouth, not letting a single drop escape.

 

Taking a bite of meat, he scooped up another spoonful of rice and happily chewed away.

 

Zhang Yiran, who hadn’t thought much of the food before, suddenly found it delicious too and started eating heartily, following Dudu’s lead. The teacher was pleasantly surprised. She thought she should let Zhang Yiran and Dudu sit together for meals in the future.

 

As this was a preschool class, many children were still not proficient in eating by themselves. Some children ended up with food all over themselves, with their faces stained with food, looking pitiful.

 

This wasn’t even the worst. Some children didn’t want to eat at all and wouldn’t touch their chopsticks. The teacher had to coax and feed them, but they still refused to eat. There was a naughty little boy who even ran around in the dining hall, refusing to let the teacher catch him, and even made faces at the teacher, making her want to spank his little bottom.

 

The teacher had no choice but to point at Dudu and said, “Fang Junlei, look at how well Dudu eats. You need to eat well to grow tall and strong. If you don’t eat, you won’t grow tall.”

 

The boy named Fang Junlei pointed at Dudu and said, “Teacher, look at all the fat on his face, it’s because he eats. I don’t want to be fat like him!”

 

The teacher immediately corrected him, “Fang Junlei, you can’t say that about your classmate!”

 

Fang Junlei made a face, “He’s just fat. I’m telling the truth.”

 

Zhang Yiran couldn’t stand it and raised his fist, “Big brother, he’s talking bad about you!”

 

Dudu managed to grunt in agreement but continued to focus on eating. In front of food, there was no time for anger. Unfortunately, there was only half of the meat left, and he finished it. However, his stomach wasn’t full yet, so he couldn’t help but regretfully touch his belly, wondering if he could ask the teacher for more food.

 

Seeing the teacher still hadn’t caught the naughty boy, Dudu stood up and eagerly asked the teacher, “Teacher, since he doesn’t want to eat, can I have his food?”

Fang Junlei, upon hearing that Dudu wanted to take his food, immediately objected and ran back, shouting, “Who said I don’t want to eat? I want to eat!”

The teacher quickly went to the kitchen to get him another serving of food, and Dudu happily picked up his spoon and started eating again, making the other children start eating like it was a competition.

 

The teacher was almost moved to tears. With Dudu around, she didn’t have to worry about coaxing the children to eat anymore.

 

After finishing another serving of food, Dudu’s stomach was finally filled. After eating, he looked expectantly at the teacher. He heard there were delicious desserts after lunch…

 

The teacher felt embarrassed by Dudu’s enthusiastic gaze. She thought, could this child not be full yet? So she tentatively asked, “Dudu, do you still want to eat?”

 

Dudu shook his head and said obediently, “Teacher, I’m full now. I just want some dessert after lunch.”

The kindergarten did have desserts, but many children wouldn’t eat properly after having dessert, so after discussing with the parents, desserts were canceled, and instead, they would have fruits as a snack in the afternoon after the children woke up from their nap. So when the teacher heard Dudu’s words, she thought he might be used to having dessert after lunch at his previous kindergarten.

Dudu couldn’t believe what he heard. No dessert after lunch? But didn’t Mom say there was?

Dudu grinned mischievously, “Actually, it’s quite heavy. Look, it’s bulging, so it must be heavy. You’re still small, my mom says children shouldn’t carry heavy things, or else it will stunt your growth.”

 

Tiantian looked surprised and frightened, covering her mouth, “What should I do then?”

 

Dudu swallowed, “I have a solution, which is to eat the things in your backpack so it won’t be heavy anymore.”

 

After thinking for a moment, Tiantian nodded and took out the contents of her backpack, “Alright, I’ll eat them so it won’t be heavy anymore.”

 

Dudu looked at all the snacks, his eyes turning red, “Donut, there’s so much, you can’t finish them all, do you want me to help you eat?”

 

Tiantian generously nodded, “Okay, I’ll share them with you.”

 

That statement seemed to trigger something, as Dudu immediately abandoned his reserve, reaching for his favorite jelly. After getting it, he quickly tore off the lid, scooped up a spoonful, and stuffed it into his mouth, feeling ecstatic.

 

Tiantian’s stomach was limited, and she only ate a few biscuits before feeling full. She watched as Dudu ate one after another, finishing all the snacks in her backpack.

 

Tiantian blinked her eyes, looking at Dudu’s round belly, thinking how capable he was.

 

Dudu let out a satisfied burp, feeling content.

 

When Yu Shanshan came to pick up Dudu from school, Dudu’s resentment towards his mom’s deception had disappeared in the snacks from Tiantian.

 

He thought that this kindergarten was still worth attending.

 

Because he had decided to help Dudu lose weight, Yu Shanshan only gave him a piece of ribs and a chicken wing for dinner, with the rest being vegetables.

 

Initially, Dudu, a carnivore, would have protested, but unexpectedly, the little guy didn’t resist. Instead, he obediently ate all the food in his bowl without asking for seconds.

 

Yu Shanshan and Yuan Long were both surprised. The teacher had mentioned that besides fruits, there were no other snacks in the kindergarten. That meant Dudu hadn’t eaten anything else all day. Finally, they managed to stop the little guy, and he was sent to kindergarten at eight o’clock .

 

This time, Yu Shanshan once again experienced what it meant to be heartless. Like when he went to the club before, Dudu entered the kindergarten without looking back, waving to his mom, telling her not to dawdle and to hurry home.
