The roasted potatoes eaten outside were completely different from the fried potatoes eaten at home. They were pink and glutinous and extremely delicious.

Ji Zhile wanted to eat more after eating. The afternoon passed very quickly, and he didn’t even go fishing yet. Of course, that was because they didn’t have any tools.

Yang Yue showed a bright smile: “Okay, I will come find you tomorrow.”

Ji Ningyi and Ji Zhile also wanted to have dinner with their family, but now Ji Zhile was not hungry at all. He sat on a small stool in front of the door and watched the sunset.

The sunlight made his face turn red. He held his chin with his hand and burped uncontrollably. Then, he quickly covered his mouth with his hand and ran into the house to drink water as if nothing had happened.

Pei Jing’s house only had two rooms and could not accommodate more people. After dinner, Ji Jiangzhou drove to the county town with his family to stay in a hotel.

The family lived in a parent-child room. Ji Ningyi and Ji Zhile told their parents the story of the day. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. When they were sleeping, Ji Zhile said, “It’s so fun.”

He thought to himself, it would be better if he could pick mushrooms tomorrow.

It seemed that God wanted to fulfill his request. It rained at night. Ji Zhile slept soundly, not hearing the thunder outside at all.

Si Tian heard it. She was not afraid of thunder, but she was a little flustered by the rumbling sound from time to time.

Ji Jiangzhou seemed to wake up for a moment, hugged her with his hands, and said in a slightly hoarse voice: “Don’t be afraid.”

Si Tian whispered something, closed her eyes, grabbed his hand, and fell asleep again.

When Ji Zhile woke up the next morning, he found that the ground outside the window was wet and puddled with water, but the sky was clear and half of the sun was showing.

He shouted in surprise: “Mom, Dad, it rained last night!”

Ji Zhile shook his head: “No.”

“Dad, let’s go to Brother Pei Jing’s house quickly. We can pick mushrooms after it rains!” Ji Zhile remembered Pei Jing’s words.

Seeing Ji Zhile’s excited look, Ji Jiangzhou cooperated. After all, the family was going to go back home from Pei Jing’s house this afternoon. At this time, he would try his best to meet the requirements of the two children.

It was only eight o’clock in the morning when they drove to Pei Jing’s house. Pei Jing had also finished breakfast.

Ji Zhile got out of the car and shouted: “Brother Pei Jing, let’s go pick mushrooms!”

Pei Jing agreed: “I’m going to call Yang Yue. She came to knock on our door at half past six this morning and said that she wanted to play together.”

After learning that Ji Ningyi and Ji Zhile hadn’t come yet, she came four more times during the period as if she was afraid that they wouldn’t take her to play.

However, Yang Yue didn’t need Pei Jing to call her, she came by herself: “I heard the sound of the car, so I knew that you were coming.”

Ji Zhile was so excited that when he caught someone, he directly reported: “We are going to pick mushrooms today.”

Yang Yue said: “I’ll go with you. I’m the best at finding mushrooms.”

After a night of rain, the sun was still shining. As soon as the sun shone, the water on the ground was dry, the sky was clear, and there were no clouds. Four children and three adults set out toward the back mountain with buckets.

The view from the back mountain was wide, and there were already people working there. Yang Yue knew them all and even greeted them.

She was indeed able to find mushrooms as she said just now. There was a place where mushrooms grew a lot. The most common ones were chicken mushrooms. This kind of mushroom was quite strange. It would basically grow in places where it grew in the past.

Seeing that Yang Yue’s bucket was getting more and more chicken mushrooms, Ji Zhile was a little anxious. He said to Pei Jing: “Brother Pei Jing, we have to look for it quickly, otherwise, all of it will be found by Yang Yue.”

He found only three chicken mushrooms in the bucket, which was very few.

Pei Jing comforted him: “Yang Yuezhen often comes to look for mushrooms and has more experience than us. These are enough for a meal. It doesn’t matter.”

Ji Zhile thought that it mattered because his mother said that this mushroom was delicious.

It was just that the children from other places were not as good as the local ones after all, when they were preparing to go back, Yang Yue’s small bucket was already more than half a bucket full.

Ji Zhile looked at his few mushrooms and pouted.
