“Chu Qianyan, my master will make you pay for this!” Yu Xing roared in agony.

His fate was sealed, though. Qian Yan kicked him into the Abyss of Malevolent Souls.

With terror in his voice, he cried, “No—”

Ye Huaifeng felt like his master had gone mad.

“I like Master being like this. It would be even better if this dream could last a bit longer,” his junior sister’s innocent voice reached his ears, making Ye Huaifeng seriously question if anything was real.

He reached for his wound and squeezed it hard. The pain made him sweat. Fresh blood oozed out from his wound. Seeing this ascertained him that this wasn’t a dream.

 “What are you doing?” Xu Cai quickly stopped him. “It seems you’re a bit stupid in my dream, Senior Brother.”

She saw the disbelief on Ye Huaifeng’s face and suddenly said, “Senior Brother, we can’t be having the same dream, can we?”

Ye Huaifeng couldn’t care less about his wound right now. He stood there with a serious face and was lost in thought. He paid no attention to Xu Cai.

This wasn’t a dream. This was real!

But, why would his master suddenly do this?

“Martial Aunt Chu, please spare our life! Martial Aunt Chu, please, we all only followed Yu Xing’s orders. We never meant to…”

Qian Yan had noticed that her eldest disciple was acting a bit foolishly on the side. He’d squeezed his wound until it started to bleed profusely. If Yu Xing’s sidekicks had remained silent, Qian Yan would’ve let them be for the time being.

However, they spoke and reminded her of their existence, so she walked out and simply dug out all of their spiritual roots. They screamed like a bunch of pigs being slaughtered.

“Yu Xing was right. It’s easy to kill someone and dispose of their body here.”

It was a plain statement. However, it sent chills down the spine of the people who were screaming in pain after Qian Yan had dug out their spiritual roots. Qian Yan raised her foot a few times to kick all of them into the Abyss of Malevolent Souls.

She then skillfully used a cleaning technique to wipe their scent away.

“Let’s return.”

Qian Yan grabbed Ye Huaifeng with one hand and Xu Cai with the other, and led them onto the flying sword, which soon brought them to Baoyue Peak.

Qian Yan took some medicine out from her storage ring and gave it to Ye Huaifeng. She told him, “Clean up and treat your wounds.”

When Ye Huaifeng took the medicine, his face was still grim, but he didn’t say anything. He concealed all the complex emotions he was feeling.

Qian Yan continued rummaging through the storage ring, but there wasn’t much in it. There were so few items inside her storage ring, and she found it almost embarrassing to give what was inside to her disciples.

As Ye Huaifeng walked out, he sensed that his master’s mood was far from pleasant. He approached her and called out, “Master.”

“For now, take this and refine it. If you encounter any danger, use it to send me a message.”

Qian Yan handed him a jade pendant.

Ye Huaifeng held the jade pendant. He felt deeply moved.

His master was acting peculiar, but just like his junior sister did, he found this weird version of his master wonderful. If only she would remain this way forever.

“Master, you killed Yu Xing and his fellow disciples. Aren’t you afraid that Chu Pingyu would come to avenge them?” Ye Huaifeng asked. “I’m afraid that after I take your gifts today and get your promise, when Chu Pingyu comes tomorrow, you’ll start protecting them again.”

Qian Yan patted Ye Huaifeng’s head. “I’m sorry for how I treated you in the past. It won’t happen again.”

Ye Huaifeng covered his head. Even his deepest defence was broken down by this. His eyes turned red. He turned his face away and didn’t say anything more.

“During my closed-door cultivation, I saw some things,” Qian Yan said.

This was a cultivation world; she had some room to fabricate a story for her disciples.

Ye Huaifeng’s heart stirred. Could it be that his master had seen something unknown, causing her drastic change in character?

“Master, what did you see?”

Xu Cai was easier to deceive. Qian Yan had managed to fool her a long time ago. Ye Huafeing, however, was the cleverest and hardest to deceive.
