“King Ningshan, this servant sees that you don’t have anything to do today. Why don’t you use this time to learn the rules of palace etiquette?” Maid Xu was the leader among the eight maids. Having received instruction from the emperor, Maid Xu naturally meant to do her best  to teach He Qingshan palace etiquette.

She’d only taught palace etiquette to noble girls before, and this was her first time teaching a man. However, this was not a problem for Maid Xu. She’d just follow her usual routine.

In the past, when men were emperors, she and other elder maids taught palace etiquette to female concubines. Now that a woman sat as the emperor, they’d teach men palace etiquette in more or less the same way. 

All eight of the elder maids had never taught a man before. Their old, rigid faces were all tinged with excitement, which made He Qingshan shudder.

“Get out!”

He Qingshan felt immensely humiliated. Yun Qianyan had just humiliated him, and then came these disgusting old ladies to do the same.

Learn the rules?

If he agreed to learn the rules and suffer this humiliation today, it’d become a black spot that he would never be able to erase once he became the emperor.

This was all Yun Qianyan’s fault. He didn’t believe that she would think of these things; that little pretty boy, the imperial teacher, must be behind all this.

The eight elder maids saw that He Qingshan really didn’t want to learn, so they didn’t dare to go and force him. After all, King Ningshan still had a status. If they went too far and made the emperor unhappy, they’d be punished. 

After seeing He Qingshan’s gloomy face, the eight maids left one after another.

“Since Prince Ningshan is unwell today, we will come back tomorrow,” the elder maids said before leaving.

He Qingshan watched the elder maids leave with a grim face. He then proceeded to smash everything—tea sets, ornaments, and furniture alike—in his room to pieces. He broke everything that could be broken. 

While doing so, he screamed and yelled, venting all his anger and frustration.

By the time he stopped his fit of anger, half an hour had passed. He didn’t bother to look at the mess he had made, nor did he remember that the injured Ling Shi’er was just next door.

He leaned against the side of his bed, panting. Inwardly, he swore and vowed to make Yun Qianyan pay for what she had done.

Little did he know that his unwillingness to learn the rules, his bullying of his servants, and even his violent fit of anger had already spread throughout the palace. 

The palace servants were talking behind his back, saying that he wasn’t fit to be the emperor’s husband with such a temper.

They wondered if someone with such a character could really become the father of the empire.
