Jiang Hemian paused to clean up and sighed, “I always feel like this experiment is missing something, like there’s a step that’s gone wrong.”
To his left, in a special container, was a yellow-green liquid containing chlorine trifluoride, a toxic and highly corrosive substance primarily used as rocket fuel, nuclear reactor fuel processing, and cleaning and etching in the semiconductor industry.
There is more than just one dangerous chemical in this laboratory. If it were to come into contact with an open flame, the damage from the explosion would be incalculable.
Not to mention that Chu Muxi had prepared gasoline.
If this thing were to catch fire, Jiang Hemian would be utterly dead!
Jiang Nanshu glanced sharply at the slightly damp corner of the wall, a smile playing on her face.
“Third Brother, are you going to do the experiment here for a while?”
Jiang Hemian didn’t even glance at her: “Well, take another look.”
Jiang Nanshu’s eyes immediately turned to admiration: “Third Brother, you’re amazing. You can do such an amazing experiment. Keep it up. I’ll be leaving now.”
“Hehe, the experiment’s about to explode. This sister will leave gracefully!”
Jiang Nanshu didn’t walk; she ran.
She was afraid that the explosion would affect her, an innocent passerby.
When she reached a distance of about 500 meters from the laboratory building, Jiang Nanshu looked at the building and counted silently in her mind.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one…
Bang!
The power of the explosion was so great that she could feel the heat wave even from such a distance.
It even alarmed the old professors in another building.
They leaned out to see that the first floor was already on fire, and the glass on the upper floors was all shattered.
Qu Yao’s face changed drastically.
“Oh no! Jiang Hemian is still there!”
Someone immediately called the ambulance and fire truck, and security personnel began to put out the fire in an orderly manner.
The people in front panicked.
And behind the building, Jiang Hemian stood unharmed by the pond, smiling as he glanced at Chu Muxi, who was struggling in the water.
The explosion was so powerful that half of her face was covered in blood.
She couldn’t swim. The pain on her face was nothing compared to the despair of impending drowning.
She waved upwards: “Third Brother, Third Brother, save me… Gulp, save…”
Every time Chu Muxi spoke, she choked on her water and had no strength left. She looked at Jiang Hemian, who was watching coldly, with some despair.
As she gradually submerged herself in the water, Jiang Hemian finally smiled. He replied, “Go to hell.”
After making sure the person was drowned, Jiang Hemian turned and left.
The fire was extinguished.
There were no casualties inside.
Jiang Hemian appeared shortly afterward. Seeing the bombed laboratory, he looked a little bewildered.
“I was just going to get something from Building 5. How could this place explode?”
Qu Yao breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that he was unharmed.
“You scared us to death. Fortunately, you’re okay. How could this laboratory building suddenly explode? Did the experimental reagents inside spill?”
Jiang Hemian pursed his lips and shook his head.
“I don’t know. By the way, where’s my sister?”
Qu Yao pointed to a large tree not far away.
“She’s there. When she found out that you were still in there, she started crying. I persuaded her to rest on the bench next to the tree. Alas, go tell her that you’re safe. This sudden explosion was terrifying.”
Jiang Hemian walked toward Jiang Nanshu.
Seeing him standing right before her, Jiang Nanshu’s eyes flushed, and she sobbed as she hugged him tightly.
“Woo, Third Brother, I thought something happened to you. I was scared to death.”
Jiang Hemian reached out and stroked her hair, “Seeing you come out, I followed you out too. I just happened to escape a disaster. You are my little lucky star.”
“I wanted you to get into trouble, and yet I’m still your lucky star… You’re lucky you were able to avoid it.”
“It’s too dangerous here, Third Brother. Let’s get out of here first, shall we?”
“Okay.”
Jiang Hemian drove Jiang Nanshu back to Beijing University.
Then he returned to take care of the research institute.
