“Ah… this—”
“May I ask who this person is?”
Xiang Sui sighed. “It seems like it’s falling apart, but not completely. It’s been a constant, on-and-off connection. They get along for no more than three days before fighting each other to the brink of death.”
“Ah ha, your brother actually beats up an Omega!”
That’s it, the male-god filter is officially shattered!
Xiang Sui coughed and said awkwardly, “Who told you my brother’s partner is an Omega?”
Jiang Yue exclaimed in shock, “Even if it’s a Beta, that’s not okay! Look at the physical difference, our Alphas are tough as nails! How could you possibly lay a hand on a Beta?”
Xiang Sui rolled his eyes again. “Did I ever say my brother’s partner is a Beta? Look at you, your imagination skills are truly top-notch!”
Jiang Yue’s mouth dropped open in an ‘O’ shape, and she immediately got excited. “No way… no way… your brother’s partner is an Alpha?”
Xiang Sui nodded solemnly, “That’s right. She’s a female Alpha with absolutely no musical talent, truly a headache.”
Jiang Yue looked puzzled. “What does being tone-deaf have to do with anything? Is that really worth emphasizing?”
Xiang Sui let out a heavy sigh. “You don’t understand. When we were kids, she used to lull me to sleep. And guess what happened?”
He held up three fingers, a mix of blood and tears in his voice. “I had nightmares for three whole days! All because she’s tone-deaf. She’s completely unreliable at times and totally unpredictable at others.”
Jiang Yue was stunned. “Well, your brother’s taste is certainly… unique.”
“Tell me about it. This is a fated mess. My brother’s just been too repressed, he instinctively craves someone so free-spirited.”
“So, what about the two of them now?”
“No idea. I haven’t seen her in ages.”
Jiang Yue’s gossip instincts flared. “This female Alpha must be something else, there aren’t many people who could go toe-to-toe with your brother.”
Xiang Sui said reluctantly, “Although I hate to admit it, she really is formidable. She and my brother have been fighting each other since they were kids, more or less evenly matched. I have no idea what happened between them, but somehow, in the middle of all that fighting, they ended up in bed.”
In the age of interstellar civilization, people were generally open-minded, homosexuality was not considered shocking at all.
But most relationships were Beta-Beta, with Omega-Omega being less common, and Alpha-Alpha the rarest. That’s because Alpha pheromones tend to repel each other; the stronger the Alpha, the more intense the pheromones and the stronger the aggression.
Moreover, Alphas are extremely easily provoked by the pheromones of someone of the same sex.
Jiang Yue wasn’t particularly affected, but whenever her pheromones leaked even slightly, her roommates would become irritable and short-tempered, especially Xi Boyu, who would turn red in the face and, on the spot, fling a handful of glandular paste at her forehead.
Two equally powerful Alphas going at it in bed was probably no different from two wild beasts fighting.
The image was too gruesome for Jiang Yue to even imagine.
It wasn’t until Xiang Liu called them to eat that Jiang Yue stopped mentally picturing the two beasts tearing each other apart: pristine sheets ripped to shreds, feather pillows torn apart, white down flying everywhere, all set against a scene both beautiful and cruel, drenched in blood.
Nervously, Jiang Yue made her way to the dining table and sat down, her eyes glancing at the spread of dishes, steaming and fragrant, and she couldn’t help but drool genuinely.
Then she looked at her brother, wearing a white apron, and her mental images immediately went into overdrive.
Ahhhh, stop it, brain! You can’t keep imagining this! What kind of chaotic nonsense is this?!
This is a seven-star Major General we’re talking about, don’t desecrate him with all this ridiculous stuff!
Jiang Yue’s face was a kaleidoscope of expressions. Xiang Liu put down his chopsticks and asked, his black eyes calm and unreadable, “Is the food not to your taste?”
Jiang Yue’s hand trembled, and the honey-glazed chicken wing she was holding slipped right into her bowl.
She immediately sat up straight and obediently replied, “N-No, it’s delicious. I just… didn’t expect you to cook, so I was a bit surprised.”
“Hmph, what’s there to be surprised about? Didn’t you, an Alpha like yourself, secretly buy a sewing kit just to mend your socks?” Xiang Sui said casually, gnawing on a chicken wing and crunching on the bones.
As soon as he finished speaking, he lifted his head with half a chicken wing in his mouth, staring at Jiang Yue with a goofy look.
As for Jiang Yue—she was practically about to faint!
So overwhelmed with excitement, she couldn’t control her emotions, and the stainless-steel chopsticks in her hand bent effortlessly in her grip.
Xiang Sui panicked, swallowing his chicken wing in embarrassment and awkwardly changing the subject, mumbling, “Hahaha… being talented is a good thing. It never hurts to have skills, right? Hahaha…”
Jiang Yue took a deep breath and straightened the bent chopsticks with her bare hands.
Xiang Liu got up from the table and handed her a fresh pair of chopsticks.
Jiang Yue took them, her whole body awkward as her toes dug into the floor, she could practically dig out an entire Federation military academy with them.
Blushing, she spoke in a deep, awkward voice, “Thank you, Major General.”
Xiang Sui coughed loudly, strategically took a sip of water, and peered cautiously at Jiang Yue over the rim of his cup.
Jiang Yue was furious, but still had to maintain a smile on her face.
Under the table, she lifted her size 45 foot and pressed down hard on Xiang Sui’s foot, crushing it with all her strength.
Xiang Sui set down his water cup and picked up a chicken wing. He never spit out the bones when eating, finishing it in just two or three bites. After swallowing, he even mixed the juices into his rice, devouring it heartily.
Something felt… off.
Jiang Yue suddenly became alert and quietly glanced down.
Xiang Sui’s slippers were blue plaid, and the ones on her feet were red plaid.
Under the table, the red-plaid slipper was crushing the black-and-white plaid slipper with all its weight.
Black-and-white…
Those were Major General Xiang Liu’s slippers.
Jiang Yue looked up in terror—Major General Xiang Liu across the table was quietly staring at her.
She was doomed.
Truly, this was an epic-level social death, worthy of being recorded in history.
With a sharp squeak, Jiang Yue shot up from her chair in horror and kept bowing frantically. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Major General Xiang Liu, I didn’t mean it! I really didn’t!”
Beside her, Xiang Sui was chewing on a rib, completely confused, staring blankly at Jiang Yue and his brother. “What’s going on here?”
“It’s fine,” Xiang Liu said.
He looked at Jiang Yue, a faint, almost imperceptible smile appearing in his eyes. “Seems like you and Xiao Sui get along quite well.”
Jiang Yue replied, nervously, “W-Well… I guess so.”
Xiang Sui wasn’t happy. “What do you mean ‘I guess so’? Either it’s good or it’s not good!”
Jiang Yue kept smiling, subtly glancing under the table. Oh no… the blue-plaid slippers!
Aim, press, crush—one smooth motion.
Xiang Sui let out a howl, stopping halfway and holding it back, his face twisted as he glared at Jiang Yue.
Xiang Liu shook his head. “Sit down and eat. The food’s getting cold.”
Jiang Yue lifted her foot and sat down, fidgeting nervously.
She felt like she was sitting on pins and needles. With such a huge Alpha appetite, she barely managed to eat anything at all.
A bowl of rice and three chicken wings were barely enough to keep her mouth occupied. Visiting a classmate’s house for the first time, she had to tame her wild eating habits.
Unfortunately, that night she was woken up by hunger.
The feeling of hunger was terrifying, her stomach felt like a raging fire, impossible to ignore.
She couldn’t be too reckless while staying in someone else’s house. Jiang Yue tiptoed down the stairs toward the living room. She remembered some fruit on the coffee table. It wouldn’t fill her up, but given the situation, it would have to do. She couldn’t very well raid someone’s fridge in the middle of the night, that would be far too rude.
Tiptoeing into the living room, Jiang Yue reached for an apple. Just as she was about to pick it up, a transparent, massive paw suddenly shot out from beside the coffee table and pressed down on her hand.
It was the paw of a huge feline, soft and warm, with thick, springy pads.
Although the big cat’s paw was transparent, every single hair on it was crystal clear.
The level of detail far surpassed that of an ordinary spiritual manifestation, like a 3D animated character model, where the more realistic the details, the more impressive the production team.
This single paw was enough to make ninety-nine percent of psychic prodigies feel hopeless.
Like a movie special effect, a massive tiger’s head emerged from under the coffee table. It shook its head, rested its chin on the table, and yawned at Jiang Yue.
Jiang Yue was utterly thrilled, rubbing a tiger’s fur was every plush-lover’s ultimate dream!
Trembling, she reached out and placed her hand on the big cat’s paw.
The big cat’s paw wasn’t as soft and fluffy as she had imagined. Unlike a small kitten, the tiger’s fur was thick and a little prickly to the touch.
As everyone knows, whether with big cats or small, paws belong on top.
So Jiang Yue started a game of “paws on top” with the tiger’s massive paw.
Both human and tiger struck with incredible speed. By the end, Jiang Yue’s hand and the tiger’s paw were moving so fast they left streaks of afterimages in the air.
Felines react incredibly fast. Jiang Yue had been playing casually and hadn’t taken it too seriously, and in the end, the tiger’s paw won, her hand was pinned underneath.
This tiger was larger than any Siberian tiger Jiang Yue had ever seen. Its two massive front paws rested on the coffee table as it nudged her fingers with its nose.
Jiang Yue looked at it cautiously and whispered, “May I… touch you?”
The tiger’s ears twitched, and the whiskers at the corner of its mouth shivered. After a brief hesitation, it extended one of its front paws toward Jiang Yue.
Felines were mostly proud and aloof, so Jiang Yue was already more than satisfied.
She took the tiger’s paw and gently stroked its sturdy foreleg.
The fur was a bit coarse to the touch, but the solid, muscular feel beneath it was oddly satisfying.
The tiger’s tail swayed behind it. Growing bolder, Jiang Yue dared to scratch under its chin.
The tiger half-closed its eyes, lifting its head in clear enjoyment. Jiang Yue felt a thrill of triumph, just as she thought, no feline could ever resist a good chin scratch!
Petting a big cat felt so good!
It wasn’t until the tiger’s tail flicked and its massive body faded into rippling air that Jiang Yue reluctantly withdrew her gaze. Beaming, she rubbed her hands together excitedly and returned to her room to sleep, her thoughts drifting to her own eagle.
She wondered if her eagle had managed to slim down, what if it was still a round ball? What would she do then?
Overly powerful spirit bodies could easily draw the attention of others. The Federal Military Academy was full of hidden talents, and with Xiang Sui’s family housing a 3S-level tiger, Jiang Yue didn’t dare recklessly summon her own spiritual body.
She sighed softly, unable to stop worrying about the golden eagle’s weight.
In Xiang Liu’s bedroom, the lights were still on. He sat with his eyes closed, dressed in a dark blue silk pajama set, as if waiting for something.
Suddenly, transparent ripples spread through the air. The massive tiger that had just been playing with Jiang Yue appeared on Xiang Liu’s bed.
It rolled over on the sheets, pawing playfully at the sash of his sleepwear.
Xiang Liu pressed a hand to the tiger’s head and asked in a low voice, “Well? How strong is her spiritual power?”
The tiger sat on the bed and drew a very large circle in the air with its front paw.
That meant: very powerful.
As expected.
Just as Xiang Liu was about to recall his spiritual body, he saw it raise its paw again and trace another large circle.
Also within expectations.
Xiang Liu nodded, only to see his spiritual body draw another large circle.
Still, not entirely unexpected.
Then the tiger, sitting on the bed, made another big circle.
One, then another, and another…
Expressionless, Xiang Liu grabbed the tiger’s head, tugged on its ear, and scolded coldly, “There’s a time and place for fooling around. Feeling itchy, are you?”
The tiger flattened its ears and let out a long, drawn-out whine.
