Bei Yutang didn’t head toward the Beauty Pavilion. Instead, she walked in the opposite direction, circling around and around, seemingly oblivious to the person following her.
Long Yi, who had been following her, watched her circling around, seemingly heading out of the palace. Just as she was about to leave, she immediately turned back.
Could it be that she already knew about him?!
Impossible!
Except for the King, there was actually someone else in this world who could sense his presence?
While he was stunned, he saw Bei Yutang disappear into a rockery. Long Yi knew the rockery’s exit and had long since hidden in the shadows, waiting. He had other Dark Dragon Guards guard the entrance, just in case.
A quarter of an hour later, Bei Yutang hadn’t emerged from the rockery maze.
It seemed the maze had trapped her.
Long Yi made no attempt to leave, but continued to wait.
Time ticked by, and after a quarter of an hour, she still hadn’t emerged.
Could she truly be lost in the maze?!
Long Yi entered the maze to investigate. Shortly after he entered, Bei Yutang, who had been lurking at the exit, immediately hid herself upon seeing him.
Long Yi followed the secret passage, his gaze scanning the surroundings.
Bei Yutang watched him pass by without moving, waiting quietly for a moment before rising and quickly heading toward the exit.
Long Yi returned from the exit to the entrance.
“Did you see anyone leave?”
The Dark Dragon Guards, who had been hiding in the shadows, respectfully replied, “Captain, no one is leaving.”
No one is leaving?!
Suddenly, Long Yi’s eyes flickered open, and with a silent thought, ‘Not good!’, he hurried back to the exit.
Bei Yutang was nowhere to be found in the entire maze of rockery, and the woman’s presence was nowhere to be found in the vast imperial palace.
Long Yi’s face darkened, realizing he had fallen for a trap.
Having successfully shaken off the fly, Bei Yutang could finally return to the Beauty Pavilion.
Elsewhere, the man on the throne looked down at Long Yi with a cold, sinister gaze.
“Lost her?”
“I’m incompetent. I’ve failed, Master.”
Long Yi lowered his head, not daring to look at Feng Chi.
Feng Chi straightened his languid body slightly, tapping the table lightly with one hand, a sly smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“Interesting.”
He glanced at Long Yi.
“Long Yi.”
Long Yi froze, awaiting Feng Chi’s response.
“Withdraw.”
Long Yi was slightly taken aback, clearly surprised that his master wouldn’t even blame him.
Seeing he didn’t move, Feng Chi said with a half-smile, “Why, you’re reluctant to leave?”
Long Yi’s heart trembled.
He immediately said, “I’ll take my leave.”
After he left, Feng Chi picked up the wine glass on the table and emptied it in one gulp.
The next morning, Bei Yutang got up as usual, washed, ate a fairly delicious meal, and listened to Gesang’s chatter.
After breakfast, the beautiful woman who lived next door came over.
“Gesang, Yutang, we’re planning a walk in the garden outside. Would you like to come?”
Gesan was very tempted. After all, they had been staying here since entering the palace, not daring to step out.
“Is it okay to go out?”
Lan Yu’er smiled and said, “We asked the nanny, and it’s okay. As long as we don’t go to the front hall where the King is active, it’s fine in the back.”
Gesang’s eyes lit up. She replied eagerly, “Okay.”
After that, she turned to look at Bei Yutang, “Yutang, let’s go together.”
