Before he could react, the man viciously kicked him in the gut, causing him to slam into the coffee table. Bottles of alcohol and packs of cigarettes tumbled onto him.
Li Bai watched in horror as the man calmly shut the door and stepped closer. Then, the man stomped hard on Li Bai’s hand with the sole of his shoe, pinning him to the floor.
Li Bai’s face turned ghostly pale from the pain. The spot where the man had kicked him was brutally precise, maximizing agony without knocking him unconscious. After what felt like forever, he managed to croak out in panic, “Who… who the hell are you?”
The man took off his baseball cap, revealing a stunningly handsome face. He smiled, an unsettlingly friendly and harmless smile. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Li. My name is Ji Mian.”
“Ji Mian… I don’t know you. We have no beef with each other. Why are you—”
“Oh, right,” Ji Mian said lightly, “I forgot to mention. I’m Feng Guang’s older brother. And… her future husband.”
As he spoke, a syringe pierced the side of Li Bai’s neck. The liquid inside rapidly entered his bloodstream. Li Bai’s eyes widened in shock. “You… what did you just inject into me?”

Picking up the box that had been set aside, Ji Mian smiled again. “Mr. Li, why don’t you guess what’s inside?”
