While getting a drink of water, he leaned back on the sofa and glanced at Lin Qiao’s phone screen. Coincidentally, it was filled with images of shirtless men.
Actually, Lin Qiao said that she might not be back that night because she wanted to have a late-night chat with Xiao Bai, like they used to in the dorm. But Su Zhengxing thought that Bai Mengying was trying to trick her into doing something shady.
He immediately clenched his teeth and picked up his phone to send a message to Qin Shen.
Immediately after Lin Qiao bought the tickets, changed her clothes, and put on makeup, she received a message from Bai Mengying suggesting that they should go another day.
Bai Mengying said that Baitian suddenly contacted her and her father, saying they wanted to discuss the next steps in the planning of Ultimate Architecture.
They could go to the amusement park anytime, but Ultimate Architecture was more important. Lin Qiao told her not to apologize and to go do her work first.
Lin Qiao opened the ticketing app to cancel the two tickets she had just bought, but after several attempts, it kept saying that they were non-refundable. She carefully read through the order details and finally noticed a tiny line of text at the bottom: “Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable on the day of purchase.”
What a rip-off!
It’s peak tourist season now, and the amusement park tickets are quite expensive. Lin Qiao looked up with a pained expression and saw Su Zhengxing sitting on the sofa watching TV.
“Xiao Bai can’t go because of something. Let’s go have some fun?” She invited him.
“Us?”
Su Zhengxing was stunned for a moment, his face showing doubt and a complicated expression. After a long while, as if he had finally made a decision, he nodded, “Alright.”
Su Zhengxing’s car had been parked in the Fangyuan Plaza parking lot ever since his last visit. Lin Qiao felt a pang of heartache for him every time he paid the parking fee.
“Address?”
Su Zhengxing asked her as he drove out, his hands on the steering wheel.
Lin Qiao typed the address into the screen, and the car navigation announced, “Destination: Oriental Ancient Charm City is 33 kilometers away, approximately 41 minutes away.”
Su Zhengxing paused: “Oriental Ancient Charm City?”
Lin Qiao nodded, saying, “Xiao Bai said there were Mid-Autumn Festival activities at this amusement park today. We were planning to go together, but she had something come up at the last minute.”
Su Zhengxing cleared his throat, his eyes slightly darting away: “Mm.”
Because it was a weekday morning and not rush hour, the roads weren’t congested. Forty minutes later, they arrived at the park entrance smoothly, following the navigation instructions.
After entering the park, a lively, festive atmosphere greeted them. Osmanthus blossoms lined the paths, filling the park with fragrance.
“Have you been to an amusement park like this before?”
Lin Qiao, seeing his curiosity about everything around him, was about to explain it to him.
“I went once a few years ago when we were discussing the acquisition.” He answered truthfully.
“…”
Lin Qiao’s lips twitched. She shouldn’t have asked.
Because it was a traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival event, many NPCs dressed in ancient costumes stood on the streets of the park, and most of the tourists were young men and women dressed in Hanfu. People like Lin Qiao and Su Zhengxing, dressed in real-life clothing, were a minority.
