There is NO chapter 986
“I’m already an adult—I’m past sixteen!” She grabbed his hand and bit it lightly. “Tell me, is it because you think I don’t look as good as the women in those magazines, so you’re not interested in me?”
With the way he’d behaved these past few days, when had he ever shown he wasn’t interested?
Faced with a feverish girl who wouldn’t listen to reason, Ming An rubbed his forehead. “Why are you still bringing up those magazines?”
Ever since he’d gotten together with her, he had cut back on drinking and stopped buying magazines. All he really wanted was to stay close to her and keep her by his side.
“You’ve got too much of a bad track record… I don’t feel secure…” She gave his chin a loud kiss and then nipped at him again. In her stubbornness, she reached out and tugged at his belt in a reckless, impulsive way.
Ming An’s expression immediately turned subtle and complicated.
Like a boss issuing a threat, she declared, “If you don’t want to be with me, then there’s no point in keeping certain things… I’ll just go find someone else!”
His gaze darkened. His voice remained gentle, but there was a chill beneath it. “Say that again.”
“I said I’ll go find someone el—”
Before she could finish, he lowered his head and silenced her, stopping the words he didn’t want to hear. In a low voice, he warned, “Don’t say things like that.”
Feng Guang didn’t have time to respond before he pulled her back against the bed. Startled, she withdrew her hand and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him.
Close to her lips, he murmured, “I’m giving you one last chance to take that back.”
She blinked, her fever-clouded mind having chased away most of her reason. Tugging lightly at a strand of his black hair, she drew him closer and kissed him back in return.
He could almost feel his so-called “gentlemanly restraint” slipping away.
“Don’t rush… I’ll make you happy soon,” Ming An whispered.
It was the first time she had really looked at him so closely. Her eyes widened with curiosity when she noticed the dark line that trailed from his neck down along his body in an irregular path. Fascinated, she tried to push him over, though she didn’t have much strength. With a helpless sigh, he shifted positions, letting her take the upper hand.
She was spoiled and temperamental, especially when she was sick. If things didn’t go her way, she would only grow more stubborn. He might as well indulge her. As long as she was happy, he would feel content too.
He truly was a gentleman—but not someone who would endlessly bend for everyone. It was only because it was her that he kept adjusting his own principles.
She leaned down, tracing the path of that dark line from his neck over his shoulder, across his chest, and lower—
“Hey, little girl…” Ming An’s voice sounded again, filled with exasperated amusement. “That’s not candy. Don’t bite so hard.”
