She Has Learned It! (5)

At that time, she was troubled by psychological problems and could not take care of herself, but now, after gradually coming out of it, she began to reflect on herself.

He was really pitiful. From beginning to end, he was kept in the dark.

Suddenly, Zhou Mingmin came to her senses: “Is this friend you?”

Mo Sui’s face turned red: “No, no…”

Zhou Mingmin suddenly started clapping and said excitedly: “Great! You are worthy of being my sister to be able to summon President Gu and send him away at will!”

Mo Sui: …

She was too hypocritical.

That night, Mo Sui stayed in Zhou Mingmin’s room for a long time.

Zhou Mingmin turned on the TV, and both of them recalled their childhood.

At that time, Zhou’s father and mother would watch TV series every night.

Zhou Mingmin was put to bed early, but her little ears were very sensitive, and she kept them perked up to listen to the noises in the TV series.

Later, when she went to school, she told Mo Sui seriously that when they grew up, they would also watch TV series, all day and all night, and they had to watch them while eating barbecue!

But now, eating barbecue was impossible. They all had to keep in shape.

“Drink water.” Mo Sui said.

Zhou Mingmin sighed softly and reluctantly took two bottles of water.

In the room, the two best actresses sat cross-legged and watched TV, each holding a bottle of mineral water.

When they felt excited, they raised their bottles of mineral water and gulped them down.

Although the mineral water was bland, at least, they had fulfilled most of their childhood dreams.

The next morning, when An An woke up, her mother was not around.

Qiao Guo stayed in the room, crossed her legs, and played with her phone.

Seeing that the little girl woke up, she smiled and said, “Good morning!”

When Qiao Guo first received the notice to join the group with Mo Sui, she was scared of her child and thought that it was difficult to take care of a child.

But unexpectedly, it turned out to be so easy to take care of a child!

An An was simply a little angel. She never cried or made a fuss. She woke up early in the morning, changed her clothes, brushed, and washed her face by herself. She didn’t even need anyone to worry about her when she ate breakfast.

At this time, the little girl took the bun in her hand, took a big bite, and ate it with great relish.

There was milk and soy milk on the side. She drank one and then the other until her cheeks were bulging, and then she swallowed it with satisfaction.

Qiao Guo almost laughed and reached out to rub her little head: “After breakfast, Sister will take you to the set. Your mother went there first. She is busy today.”

“Did Mom go to the set very early?” An An asked.

“Yes, she went at four or five in the morning.”

An An had no concept of time, but she guessed that it must be very early.

Qiao Guo said: “Don’t be fooled by the glamor of being an actor. In fact, you have to get up early and go to bed late when you work. For a scene at 6 o’clock in the morning, your mother has to get up at 4 o’clock, drink black coffee to reduce swelling, and then do her makeup and hair. Time is very tight.”

An An nodded vigorously.

Mom worked very hard. She had to be good and play with herself!

After breakfast, An An called her father to say hello and got another task.

“Help Dad keep an eye on the director and report if there is any special situation.”

An An understood, patted her chest, and agreed.

***

For the next few days, An An focused all her attention on the director uncle.

As long as there was a slight movement, she would remember it immediately because her father said that An An was his best little spy.

How could a little spy make mistakes?

Guaranteed to complete the mission!

Translator’s Comment:

This is actually what I am concerned about the most.

We could see that An An has changed, from the timid baby to more cheerful and braver. She is also more comfortable and closer to her new family.

Gu Yicheng also changed, from not like a child to dote on An An. He even changed his stubborn personality to be humble and ‘shameless’ to chase his wife.

But, only Mo Sui has a different attitude. Well, it’s true that she changed to An An.

But, to Gu Yicheng, I only see that she ‘used’ him from beginning till now.

When she could not forget the heartache of her ‘dead’ daughter, she ‘used’ him by asking to marry her in order to divert her attention.

When she still could not forget her ‘dead’ daughter and felt guilty toward Gu Yicheng, she one-sidedly asked for divorce.

He already cooperated and supported her in the variety show, red carpet, and even when she was attacked by others, he suppressed the news.

But, she kept herself tightly, not opening her heart.

How could her popularity soar if not because of Gu Yicheng cooperation?

How could the adoption proceed if Gu Yicheng did not handle it? Even for this, she still ‘used’ him, as she previously asked for divorce. Does she think a single mother can adopt an orphan?

I know she is feeling heartbroken because of her ‘dead’ daughter, but that daughter is not only hers, but also him!

He has the right to know! He has the right to also ‘mourn’ for his ‘dead daughter’!

Besides, I think what she needs the most is not the psychiatrist, but her husband.

I really hope to see her to open her heart to him because I am feeling hurt just seeing Gu Yicheng being so humble to her.

I see your point, but I don’t think it’s as straightforward as her using him. First, I think she married him out of love, not to divert her attention – I seem to remember that being said. But that seeing him ended up reminding her of their child – which since she hadn’t told him (the biggest issue IMO) – she couldn’t even discuss her pain with him to work it out and grieve together. She was keeping it all to herself with no outlet, and started spiraling downward. Remember, original novel had her drinking a lot and not sleeping, destroying her career and ending tragically. That’s not a person that is going to be a good spouse. She was divorcing him not just out of guilt toward him (not sure she was even thinking of that TBH, people in depressed states often have trouble thinking of anyone besides themselves), but because being tied to him was a source of pain. Easier to cut it off than deal with the problem. Although you can say she’s using him to adopt An An, you could say he’s using her for the same purpose, but I don’t think either ever considered that because they’ve kind of forgotten about the divorce while caring for An An. Sort of a “fake it til you make it” where they really do see themselves as a family.

I agree that he has the right to know and mourn for his lost child. But. If you consider it realistically, originally they were separated when she was pregnant and gave birth. So she didn’t tell him – right or wrong, this isn’t an uncommon choice because a kid will tie you together forever, and if you’re not together you might not want that. She had the resources to raise a child alone, so that’s what she was doing. Maybe she eventually would have told him, but things didn’t work out that way 🤷🏻‍♀️ Her background caused her to be very independent emotionally and not share her burdens generally because her mom was so hypercritical and demanding. After the child “died,” what is the point of telling him so that he can grieve a child he’ll never know? He can’t change anything, he may feel guilty, but ultimately it affects nothing AND she will be forced to open up and talk about it, which she doesn’t want to do. Although from my POV she is wrong, who knows what any of us would do when faced with this?

He is clearly very determined to keep this marriage, and she is warming up to him now that she isn’t stuck spinning in her own head. Although unfair, sometimes in a relationship, one partner has to pick up the slack for the times the other can’t do it. To put in a clear analogy, think of it as her being very ill and needing all her energy to cope with getting better, emotionally drained and unable to care about anything past her own illness. He knows she’s not ok, and is carrying her share of their relationship, hoping she recovers enough to take it back. I’d hope that she would do the same for him during times when he inevitably can’t put in 100%. Although it’s always ideal for each person to put in 100% of effort, that doesn’t hold up to real life.

Anyways, i didn’t mean to write an essay, but it’s an interesting topic 😅

  2. Imperatrice says:

Hi translator sama i see your POV and i was 100% with you on this.
Then i reak Tenshineko POV and i was like yeah we can giver her a chance because she’s in depression. But i think she’s also selfish in her choice…

  3. Aleb says:

I wouldn’t say she used him. For the adoption nor for other things. She Has manager wu for most things and through her, could have gotten a lawyer to see what could be done to keep anan.
They were together since about highschool. Not sure really cuz their ages keep changes. 26 but then 30 but then 24 but then 26 again. Grandma even confirmed 30. I dont think the marriage timeline is set in stone either. An an is 4. So that puts it at 5 years with pregnancy. But it said her mental ok until 1 to 2 years ago. Then stated 2 to 4 years ago. But the marriage only really took place 1 to 2 years ago or so.
My theory is her mom had something to do with her baby’s “death”.

Now back to using him. At least 1 year to 2 had to have passed by the time she married yicheng. So even then, with the grieving process he was not used. Even then, married couples need a therapist for stuff like this. Especially for the loss of a child
