Ji Ningyi and Pei Jing left together, but Ji Ningyi was a little worried about Ji Zhile.
“Zhile likes little rabbits very much.” Ji Ningyi said. At that time, he and Pei Jing went to the animal base and saw Ji Zhile asleep, so they did not call him because Ji Zhile did not want to get up in the morning when he went to school.
Pei Jing said: “Then let’s go back early, tell Ji Zhile that the playground park is fun, and bring him here again. He should be happy.”
Ji Ningyi felt that what Pei Jing said made sense. Ji Zhile liked to play, so he definitely could not resist playground parks.
The two children did not play in the playground park for too long. They just wanted to get familiar with the facilities and then go back together.
As soon as he saw Ji Zhile, Ji Ningyi said, “Zhile, the playground park is very fun. There are seesaws, tire-logged bridges, and swings.”
Pei Jing also said: “The swings there can swing very high, and the slides are also very fun.”
Hearing each of them say something, Ji Zhile became even more angry. They went to play without bringing him back, and they still said this. He covered his ears: “I won’t listen. I won’t play with you anymore.”
Ji Ningyi and Pei Jing looked at each other, but now they had no idea.
As a parent, Si Tian naturally had to coordinate the problems among the children, so she said, “Come and rest when you’re tired from playing and drink some water.”
Then, she asked: “Pei Jing, how old are you?”
Pei Jing said, “Seven years old.”
“What month is your birthday?”
Pei Jing: “August.”
Ji Ningyi immediately said, “I’m also in August.”
“I am August thirteenth.”
Pei Jing said, “I’m on the sixth day of August.”
“At that time, I will be seven years old.”
Pei Jing slightly squinted his eyes, happy that he would be one year older in a little while.
Ji Ningyi said: “I was seven years old at that time too…”
“Then Pei Jing, you should be six years old now.”
Pei Jing said: “My grandmother said I was seven years old, not six.”
Ji Ningyi said, “No.”
Seeing that the two children had opinions on the issue of age, Si Tian asked Pei Jing in detail and knew that Pei Jing was more interested in talking about his age1Xūsuì: one’s age, according to the traditional Chinese method of reckoning (i.e. the number of Chinese calendar years in which one has lived) – In this system, a person’s age at birth is one, and increases by one at the beginning of the first solar term 立春 each year, rather than on one’s birthday.
I think this is similar to the age custom in South Korea.. His birthday was also according to the lunar calendar, so it seemed that Ningyi was the oldest of the three children.
Ji Ningyi said: “I am many days older than you.”
Si Tian said: “Zhile is the youngest.”
“Zhile, you see, they are all your brothers.” At such a young age, don’t be so angry. He is as angry as a pufferfish.
Ji Ningyi turned his head and said to Pei Jing, “You should also call me brother.”
Pei Jing’s face was slightly hot, and he was a little embarrassed: “Brother.”
Pei Jing felt that brother was more than just a title. Ningyi was Zhile’s brother, and Ningyi doted on Zhile and protected Zhile. Pei Jing thought to himself that even if he called Ningyi brother, he would still protect Ningyi.
With squinted eyes, Ji Ningyi took out candy from his pocket and gave it to Pei Jing: “Here you are.”
He did not bring any snacks, so he put a few candies in his pocket and gave them to everyone. He gave the rest to Pei Jing.
Hearing this, Ji Zhile widened his eyes and looked at the two of them again. Seeing that they were talking and laughing, and still eating sweets, Ji Zhile turned his face sadly.
Everyone was very happy when they returned from the picnic, except Ji Zhile, who was sitting by the window thinking about something. The car stopped, and everyone got off one by one, with Ji Zhile and Pei Jing walking last.
Pei Jing wanted to comfort Ji Zhile so that he could go to see the little rabbit next time, but Ji Zhile called him first.
“Brother Pei Jing.”
Seeing Ji Zhile’s troubled look, Pei Jing was about to ask him what was the matter when he heard Ji Zhile say seriously: “Brother Pei Jing, my brother only has me as a younger brother.”

Translator’s Comment:
So, is Pei Jing’s current age 6? But, why is Ningyi the older one? I am a bit confused, hehe… Please someone enlighten me!

I will really appreciate it. ♥️♥️♥️

Based on gregorian calender Pei Jing is six years old, because his grandma says he is seven years old in lunar calender. August in lunar calender usually falls in september for gregorian calender, so Ningyi’s 13 august (gregorian calender) is older by many days than Pei Jing’s 6 august (lunar calender).
Even though it’s late, I hope this answer helps.
Wow, it’s so helpful!! Thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️
