TSFLIP Chapter 765

“Han Qi, please… I’m begging you… live a little longer… just a little longer…” Feng Guang’s voice broke as she choked back sobs, her tear-filled eyes fixed on the man so close to her. “If every day you live feels like it was stolen, then I’ll steal it with you. No matter the cost, no matter what I have to do—if it means you can keep living, I’ll do it.”

In that moment, she couldn’t deny it anymore—the scale on which she weighed life had shattered. No one’s life could compare to Han Qi’s. Not even… not even Han Chen’s.

She clutched his hand desperately. “Han Qi… I’m a terrible woman… I think… if there’s only one way for you to survive, then…”

Then there was nothing she wouldn’t sacrifice.

“You’re not the terrible one.” Han Qi gently wiped away her tears. His smile was flawless, yet so painful to look at. “Feng Guang, it’s my fault. I thought I had enough self-control. I thought I could keep the proper distance from you. I thought I was rational. Rationality told me that more than ten years ago, I should have accepted my fate.”

But all those “thoughts” had been wrong the moment he met her.

That night, he stumbled across her had been an accident—yet Han Qi had never encountered such a beautiful accident. Her voice pleading for him not to die was the sweetest thing he had ever heard. When he was unconscious, it was she who stayed by his side. Her scent lingered at his nose, her warmth seeped through his skin, until it reached his very bones, his heart.

It was like a poison. A poison with no antidote.

Han Qi had seen other women before. Guests came and went in the Han household. But those women either treated him like fragile glass or were drawn in by his looks, slowly inching closer.

He once wondered if maybe one of them could bring him some surprise, some spark. But each time he was disappointed. He overestimated them, underestimated his own impatience. Only Feng Guang was different.

He didn’t understand why. He only knew that whenever she came near, his usually steady heartbeat would spin out of control, hammering wildly in his chest.

And yet Han Qi knew very clearly—he had no right to approach her. What little he possessed was nothing compared to all she had.

Dating her, strolling through the city with her, accompanying her to school, publicly claiming her as his—those were things forever beyond his reach.

From the beginning, he had been destined to lose. But greed is boundless, and Han Qi was no exception. Once he drew close, he couldn’t help but want more.

And with that wanting came the crushing despair his body never let him forget.

Feng Guang’s heart twisted with pain. She wept harder. “I can’t… I can’t do anything to help you…”

Oh, how she wished this world weren’t bound by science and medicine. If it were a world of cultivation or magic, she could find a hundred impossible ways to save him.

“This isn’t your fault.” He pressed his lips to the corner of her damp eyes, his voice soft, almost tender. “This is my pain alone. You shouldn’t have to bear it.”

His pale, slender hand stroked the wet tracks on her face, then slid under her chin, lifting it gently. He leaned down toward her, closer, closer—until his lips pressed against hers, silencing her trembling sobs.
