After midnight, the rain outside the window gradually subsided. Lin Qiao lay exhausted on the pillow, resting her head on her arm. A thin, dark gray blanket covered half of her slender back, concealing some scattered red spots.
“Dry your hair before going to sleep. Don’t catch a cold.”
Su Zhengxing pulled the blanket up a little higher for her, plugged in a silent hairdryer by the bedside, and sat beside her, gently drying her waist-length hair.
“I’m so tired, so sleepy…”
Lin Qiao murmured lazily, her eyelids drooping.
“Hmm, almost done.” He said gently.
The hairdryer’s warm air blew on her face, and Lin Qiao snuggled comfortably against the pillow.
“Su Zhengxing, if you open a hair salon and offer hairdressing services, lots of people will order from you.”
Su Zhengxing chuckled, pinching her rosy cheek with his fingertips: “What will you do if people order from me?”
“I’ll post it on my WeChat Moments to help you promote it. If you get three likes, you’ll get a free haircut and styling service.” Lin Qiao giggled.
Even with her hair all messy and saying nonsensical things, she was incredibly cute. Su Zhengxing helplessly turned off the hairdryer and used his fingers to neatly comb her hair.
He turned off the overhead light, leaving only a bedside lamp, and lay down beside Lin Qiao, embracing her from behind.
“When are you going to post it?”
His tender voice lingered in her ear.
“Post what?”
Lin Qiao was so sleepy that her eyelids were drooping, and she asked in a half-dreaming, half-awake state.
“Moments on WeChat.”
He nuzzled against her neck.
“When are you going to post it for me? Hmm?”
“Hmm… the ad space on my WeChat Moments is very expensive.” Lin Qiao rolled over and hugged his waist.
Su Zhengxing reached for his phone on the bedside table, and with a buzz, Lin Qiao’s phone rang.
Lin Qiao squinted and opened her phone. Her mobile banking notified her of a large transfer.
She snapped out of her daze, counting the zeros at the end of the string of numbers again and again. Surprised, she sat up in bed, still clutching the covers, and looked at Su Zhengxing.
“?”
“I’ve bought out your entire WeChat Moments.”
Su Zhengxing also sat up, rubbing her palm with his fingertips.
“Post it for me, okay?” He said softly.
This was the first time Lin Qiao had ever seen him act like this… being coquettish?
“Why do you insist I post it to you?” Lin Qiao scratched his chin like she was teasing a puppy.
Su Zhengxing didn’t dodge, letting her scratch him: “Let everyone know I’m your officially announced boyfriend.”
Lin Qiao hadn’t expected him to care about this. She deliberately crossed her arms and tilted her head, feigning arrogance.
“Why should I? You didn’t post anything about me!”
Su Zhengxing immediately picked up his phone and, a few seconds later, held it up for her to see.
“I did.”
Lin Qiao took his phone and saw that it was a photo of her running toward him through the crowd at the amusement park earlier that day, lifting her skirt. Because it was a candid shot and straight from the camera, Lin Qiao’s bright white teeth were clearly visible, and her eyes were crinkled into slits.
“Ah! Who gave you permission to post this! You didn’t even Photoshop it! It’s so ugly! Delete it!”
Lin Qiao raised her hand to delete the photo, but Su Zhengxing snatched it back and held it above his head.
“Not ugly. It’s beautiful.”
Lin Qiao tried to snatch it back, but the blanket that was loosely covering her chest slipped down, revealing a patch of skin.
She was both anxious and angry, covering Su Zhengxing’s eyes with her hands, her cheeks puffed out.
“I’m angry!”
Su Zhengxing knew that she wasn’t really angry. He closed his eyes, pulled the blanket over her tightly, then moved her small hands away and hugged her through the blanket.
“I really think it looks great. Really.” He said.
