TICIEC Chapter 86.1

“What are you doing?”

Shu Fei was caught off guard and fell to the ground, clutching her chest in pain and covered in cold sweat.

The surrounding maids and eunuchs quickly protected her.

Nanny Ping and the others hurriedly stopped Zhuang Fei.

“This palace maid has been in Linlang Palace for three years. Besides you, who else would have planted someone in my Linlang Palace three years ago! It was you! It was you who did it!” Zhuang Fei glared fiercely at Shu Fei.

If it weren’t for Nanny Ping and others desperately stopping her, she would have rushed forward to continue beating Shu Fei.

Shu Fei was kicked to the ground and couldn’t get up. The intense pain and the humiliation of being beaten in front of the entire palace made her want to strangle Zhuang Fei on the spot.

She immediately looked at the Emperor, tears streaming down her face: “Your Majesty, this concubine is innocent! I have never met this palace maid before, yet Zhuang Fei has falsely accused me and beaten me…”

“Your Majesty, Zhuang Fei assaulted a higher-ranking concubine, which is an act of insubordination and should be severely punished!” Cen Jieyu was shocked by Zhuang Fei’s absurdity and stepped forward to support Shu Fei.

The concubines of the Cen faction came forward to criticize.

“Without any evidence, Zhuang Fei is making baseless accusations that it was Shu Fei who did it. Doesn’t that mean she can wrong any innocent person?”

“Shu Fei is utterly wronged, and Zhuang Fei is extremely arrogant. We beg Your Majesty to punish her severely!”

Zhuang Fei ignored these words, staring at Shu Fei with icy, piercing eyes, her anger surging within them.

Helian Qi never expected that Zhuang Fei would suddenly turn against Shu Fei…

He also harbored suspicions about Shu Fei.

All the new concubines only entered the palace this year. The only person who could have planned this three years ago and had the means to do so was Shu Fei.

But since there was no evidence, he could not hold her accountable.

“Zhuang Fei acted out of excessive anger because of the Eldest Princess’s accident; her love for her daughter is understandable.”

Helian Qi openly showed favoritism, saying: “Zhuang Fei is to be fined one year’s salary and confined to her palace for two months to reflect on her mistakes.”

Disrespect for hierarchy and insubordination—such a grave offense was met with a mere salary reduction and confinement for reflection.

A group of newly concubines was all stunned.

Even Xue Jinyan and Cen Jieyu were surprised by the Emperor’s favoritism toward Zhuang Fei.

No wonder she was once known as the most favored concubine in the imperial harem.

The newly concubines were witnessing the Emperor’s favoritism for the first time, but Shu Fei had known about it for a long time.

In the Emperor’s eyes, even if Zhuang Fei beat her, it was not a crime…

Of course, she wouldn’t start a fight with the Emperor on the spot; she maintained a virtuous and gentle demeanor.

“Your Majesty is quite right. This concubine can understand Zhuang Fei’s feelings. After all, the Eldest Princess almost got into trouble under her care… She must feel very guilty…”

After a pause, Shu Fei changed the subject: “Zhuang Fei has never had any experience in childbirth, so it is really asking too much of her to take care of the Eldest Princess. I beg Your Majesty to consider it carefully for the safety of the Eldest Princess.”

“Besides you, no one else in the palace has experience in childbirth. But you already have a prince, so it’s inconvenient for you to take care of the Eldest Princess.” Helian Qi refused directly.

He would never allow Shu Fei to take care of the Eldest Princess.

“Your Majesty, what about the Empress Dowager? The Empress Dowager is now enjoying her retirement and should be experiencing the joys of being with her grandchildren…” A cold glint flashed in Shu Fei’s eyes.

In order to target Zhuang Fei, she could send the Eldest Princess to the Xue family.

Taking a child away from her mother was the most vicious move for any concubine.

Although Zhuang Fei disliked the Eldest Princess, Shu Fei knew very well that having the Eldest Princess under Zhuang Fei’s care would be of great benefit to Zhuang Fei.

If Zhuang Fei dared to hit her today, her first step would be to get rid of the child.

The second step was to eliminate Zhuang Fei in order to avenge today’s humiliation.
