Thank you, BlueMoon, for the ko-fi~
Upon hearing his dad call him home, Feng Yuan immediately broke into a wide grin.
He said happily, “Dad must be calling Yuan Yuan back for dinner.”
Given the time of day, it was indeed time to return for the evening meal.
The chubby little guy, ready to head back for dinner, waved his small hand goodbye to his little followers.
He had a feeling his dad wouldn’t be able to leave just yet.
So, he made plans with the young children to play again tomorrow.
“See you tomorrow, Boss Yuan Yuan!”
“See you tomorrow!”
After a day of fun, the group of youngsters had already come to regard Boss Yuan Yuan as their leader.
Boss Yuan Yuan knew how to fight and how to have fun.
Following him, their day had been incredibly exciting.
Although their faces and arms still stung a bit from the bee stings.
Feng Yuan had found some medicinal herbs. All the children had applied them, but they didn’t seem to work very well.
The redness and swelling on their skin hadn’t subsided much.
When Feng Yuan returned home, his chubby little face was still dotted with bee sting bumps.
As he made his way back, he hopped and skipped, humming a little tune.
A butterfly spirit led the way ahead of him.
Feng Yuan wanted to chat with the little butterfly. But unfortunately, the butterfly didn’t engage in conversation.
Before long, the butterfly and the little guy arrived at the Phoenix Nest.
Feng Yuan was delighted to see so many adults gathered at the entrance.
With all the adults present, it would be convenient for him to hand out red envelopes!
“Uncles and aunties, you’re all here!”
Feng Yuan was overjoyed. He pulled out the red envelopes he had prepared.
“Yuan Yuan celebrated the New Year at home and received lots of lucky money.”
“Now, Yuan Yuan will give you red envelopes, too! This is Yuan Yuan’s gift to you.”
The little guy had prepared gifts for everyone, which made the adults who had come to complain feel a bit embarrassed.
The softest-hearted among them, the Jade Rabbit, cleared her throat and didn’t even mention the earlier complaints.
She softened her voice and spoke gently to Feng Yuan.
“Yuan Yuan, you should keep the red envelopes for yourself. We’re adults and don’t need lucky money.”
“But this is Yuan Yuan’s heartfelt gift!”
Feng Yuan clutched the red envelopes in his chubby little hands, his attitude leaving no room for refusal.
He stepped onto the doorstep, standing at the entrance.
This spot was a bit higher.
The little guy, holding the red envelopes, was all ready to distribute them.
He looked down at the uncles and aunties standing slightly below him, a smile spreading across his face.
“Let’s begin!” he announced loudly to the uncles and aunties.
The adults below exchanged confused glances.
They weren’t quite sure what was about to happen.
Feng Qi, meeting their gazes, suddenly felt a pang of unease.
Then, a sense of foreboding abruptly rose in his heart.
Before he could figure out where this ominous feeling was coming from, the chubby little guy beside him spoke again.
Seeing that the uncles and aunties weren’t moving, Feng Yuan assumed they didn’t know the rules. So, in his soft, childish voice, he explained the procedure to everyone.
“You kneel and kowtow to Yuan Yuan, and Yuan Yuan will give you red envelopes.”
“Everyone will get one!”
As soon as Feng Yuan finished speaking, the entire place fell into dead silence.
The adults, who had been slightly touched by the little guy just moments before, now wore expressions that grew increasingly grim.
Feng Qi’s fists clenched tightly.
Through gritted teeth, he asked Feng Yuan, “Yuan Yuan, do you have any idea what you’re doing?”
Feng Yuan tilted his little face upward, completely justified. “Yuan Yuan is giving out red envelopes!”
Seeing his dad’s displeased expression, Feng Yuan tried to soothe him.
“Dad, Yuan Yuan has one for you, too.”
“If you kowtow to Yuan Yuan, Yuan Yuan will give you red envelopes, too!”
Feng Qi: “…”
Feng Qi’s face shifted through several shades of anger.
Finally, unable to hold back any longer, he lifted Feng Yuan in front of everyone.
“Feng Yuan! You want your dad to kowtow to you? How many spankings are you asking for?!”
Feng Yuan: “…”
Held up by his dad in a position that clearly meant a spanking was coming, Feng Yuan immediately grew frightened.
His little milky voice trembling, he pleaded with his dad, “Don’t spank Yuan Yuan. Yuan Yuan won’t make you kowtow anymore.”
Feng Qi was so angry he nearly saw stars.
“You’re just asking for a spanking!”
“You made so many uncles and aunties kowtow to you!”
Feng Qi’s head was buzzing with rage.
He placed the chubby toddler across his lap and began spanking him. Smack, smack, smack!
Feng Yuan’s plump little bottom made a loud sound with each strike.
As he spanked, Feng Qi listed all the misdeeds the child had committed that day.
Feng Yuan wailed and cried.
Ever since his dads had gone out after the New Year, Feng Yuan hadn’t been spanked at the Yu household.
He hadn’t been spanked for almost half a month. Now, being spanked again, he cried like a little piglet about to be slaughtered for the New Year.
Even as he listened to the crying, Feng Qi didn’t stop.
With each successive spank, similar scenes suddenly surfaced in Feng Qi’s mind.
In these familiar scenes, the settings were different.
He and Feng Yuan wore different clothes.
The only constants were the chubby toddler’s cries and pleas.
“Waaah, don’t spank Yuan Yuan anymore.”
“Yuan Yuan’s bottom hurts.”
The spanked child cried pitifully. The adults, unable to bear it, rushed over to intervene.
They snatched Feng Yuan from Feng Qi’s hands and tried to calm both father and son.
“Feng Qi, he’s still young. Don’t spank him so hard.”
“Yuan Yuan, alright now, stop crying. You were the one who misbehaved first.”
The adults tried to soothe both sides.
Only the Bee King didn’t step forward.
He stood with his arms crossed, quite enjoying the sight of the chubby toddler being spanked.
Watching the little guy sob and hiccup, he showed no intention of comforting him.
“Phoenix, you should compensate me for my losses. Your little phoenix ruined all my honey. My honey is very precious.”
Seeing how Feng Qi was disciplining his child, the Bee King felt confident that he had the upper hand this time.
Feng Qi didn’t seem like he would shield his son!
Not only would he likely get compensation for his losses, but he might even get a little extra.
The Bee King’s thoughts were optimistic.
But reality didn’t align with his expectations.
Feng Qi might be spanking his child, but…
He had noticed his son’s swollen right cheek from the very first moment.
He glanced at the Bee King, his slender, elegant finger pointing to his son’s little face.
“I can compensate you for your losses, but shouldn’t you also compensate me for my son’s face?”
“That swelling on his cheek, wasn’t it stung by your bees?”
“Tell me, how do you plan to compensate me?”
Bee King: “?”
The Bee King was taken aback. “Why should I compensate you? Your son got stung while stealing my honey. He deserved it.”
The moment the Bee King’s last three words left his mouth, the Phoenix flashed in front of him.
The Phoenix knew his chubby child was quite deserving of a spanking.
But he was certain of one thing—
His chubby son wouldn’t go stealing someone else’s honey for no reason.
This Bee King must have done something shady first.
The Bee King watched as the phoenix closed in on him and instinctively swallowed hard.
It wasn’t that he was captivated by the phoenix’s beauty.
He was actually a little afraid of the phoenix.
The phoenix’s beauty and power coexisted. So, despite his stunning appearance, no one dared to truly pursue him.
No one wanted to offend him.
“W-what do you want?! I’m telling you, it’s your kid who’s not well-behaved! He was the one who—”
Before the Bee King could finish, Feng Qi raised his hand.
With a single slap, he sent the Bee King stumbling back several meters.
The Bee King was dazed by the blow.
“I know my child well. He may cause trouble, but he wouldn’t steal your honey without reason.”
“You should reflect on your own actions instead of having the nerve to come here and blame me.”
As he spoke, Feng Qi flashed in front of him again and delivered another slap.
By the time the Bee King returned home, his face was bruised and swollen.
After dealing with the Bee King, Feng Qi turned his attention to his still-crying son.
He had regained memories from outside the mirror and fragments of his past.
However, the most crucial part, the memories of the Great War between Gods and Demons, was still missing.
So, he had to stay a little longer.
Fortunately, the flow of time here was different from the outside world.
If he could just hold on a bit longer, he would uncover the whole truth.
Lost in thought about his memories, Feng Qi took his child from the Jade Rabbit’s arms.
The little guy, having just been punished, tearfully stretched out his tiny hands, asking to be held by his dad.
The Jade Rabbit watched with a sigh.
“Feng Qi, your little guy really makes people both adore and exasperate him.”
Feng Qi hummed in agreement. “You’ll get used to it.”
After recovering the memories related to his son, Feng Qi felt as though his mindset and state had completely transformed in an instant.
In a split second, he went from being a carefree and unattached individual to a weary father who had been raising a child for years.
The group at the door bid him farewell one by one.
Feng Qi watched them leave.
Once they were gone, he carried his son back into the house.
Li Sheng reappeared.
Feng Qi glanced at him and ordered, “Fetch some water. It’s time to give Yuan Yuan a bath.”
Li Sheng nodded.
Before heading off to get the water, Li Sheng stole a few extra glances at Feng Qi.
He, too, had noticed the change in Feng Qi.
Strange.
Feng Qi had only been outside for a short while and had just disciplined his child.
How could a simple scolding leave him so noticeably different?
Li Sheng couldn’t figure out the reason for Feng Qi’s transformation.
He obediently went to fetch the water.
While Li Sheng was busy, Feng Qi cupped his son’s little face, carefully examining the swollen bump on it.
“Does it hurt?”
“Yes.”
“You managed to play for half the day with a bump like that on your face. You really have a high pain tolerance.”
As he spoke, Feng Qi gently nibbled on his son’s cheek.
He wasn’t just being affectionate.
He was neutralizing the toxins inside the swollen bump.
If the toxins weren’t cleared, the little guy would be in pain for at least three days.
Feng Qi detoxified his son without minding his dirty face.
He didn’t even bother to wipe it clean first.
Since the child’s face was sore, cleaning it would only cause more pain.
So, Feng Qi waited until the toxins were gone and the pain had subsided before washing his little face.
Li Sheng brought over the basin of water.
Feng Qi undressed the child and began bathing him as usual.
“Li Sheng, wash his hair.”
“How?”
Feng Qi remembered how to take care of the little guy, but Li Sheng hadn’t recalled it yet.
With no memory of raising a child, Li Sheng had no idea how to wash a young child’s hair.
“Forget it. You scrub his body, and I’ll wash his hair,” Feng Qi said, swapping tasks with him. The two of them worked together to lift the dirty little guy.
Feng Yuan was soaking in the bathtub, his little face still flushed from crying earlier.
When Li Sheng washed his bottom, the child protested unhappily with a couple of shouts.
“Be gentle! Dad just spanked Yuan Yuan. Yuan Yuan’s bottom hurts!”
The little guy was a bit fierce toward Li Sheng. He was visibly dissatisfied.
Feng Qi watched the little guy throw a tantrum but, for once, didn’t say anything. He knew why the child was upset. Li Sheng hadn’t recognized him and had been cold and impatient with him. The little guy was holding a grudge.
If he didn’t let the child vent now, Li Sheng would probably have a hard time soothing him later.
Feng Qi didn’t interfere with the interaction between the father and son.
After washing Feng Yuan from head to toe, Feng Qi picked him up, dried him off, and placed him on the bed.
All the sheets and bedding on the bed had been changed and were now clean.
Feng Yuan lay on the bed with his little body bare, arms and legs spread out. He was completely exposed in front of his two dads, not the least bit embarrassed.
“Dad, Yuan Yuan doesn’t want to wear clothes,” Feng Yuan said, wanting to sleep naked so he could air out his reddened bottom.
Feng Qi tugged on his chubby little foot, pulling him closer. “You don’t have to wear pajamas, but you need to wear a bellyband.”
He took out a small red bellyband. This little red bellyband had been sent by a beast from the World of Mountains and Seas with whom he had a slight acquaintance. Although these beasts were busy gossiping, they hadn’t forgotten to send him some things afterward. Bellybands, little clothes, small shoes, and even some powder for children. They had sent all of these.
After putting the little bellyband on Feng Yuan, Feng Qi had him lie face down on the bed and dusted some powder onto his bottom.
Once he was done with the little guy, Feng Qi pinched his chubby belly and the soft, plump cheek on his left side. He was now absolutely certain that the little guy had genuinely gained some weight while staying at the Yu residence.
Besides the sweet scent of honey, the little guy also carried a milky smell, somewhat similar to Eggy’s.
After a moment of thought, Feng Qi asked Feng Yuan, “Yuan Yuan, did you steal Eggy’s milk to drink?”
Feng Yuan: “…”
Feng Yuan: “No!”
Wronged, the little guy immediately scrambled up on his hands and knees, his chubby face serious as he clarified, “Yuan Yuan didn’t steal it! Wu Jin made milk for Yuan Yuan to drink. Grandma said it’s nutritious and told Yuan Yuan to drink it.”
Eggy’s milk powder was carefully selected, a high-quality formula. Eggy himself was picky and wouldn’t drink any milk powder he didn’t like. The one they had at home was the one Eggy had chosen himself.
Feng Yuan’s taste was quite similar. The two little buddies both loved this brand of milk powder. After drinking it for several days, Feng Yuan had noticeably plumped up.
“You’re not lacking in nutrition anymore,” Feng Qi stated bluntly. “From now on, drink less of Eggy’s milk powder.”
If he kept drinking like this, Feng Qi would have to put the chubby little guy on a diet as soon as they returned home.
As the father and son chatted, Li Sheng, who had been ignored, grew somber. He hadn’t had enough of his alone time with Feng Qi yet. Now, there was another little one in the picture.
This made Li Sheng extremely displeased.
What followed was Feng Qi’s intimacy with Feng Yuan, which nearly pushed Li Sheng over the edge.
Li Sheng couldn’t understand why Feng Qi had suddenly grown so close to this little guy!
Although the little guy would run off during the day and not return home, he and Feng Qi still had plenty of time to be entangled.
But the little guy would always come back at night.
And when he returned, he was never alone. He often brought others with him.
Whenever he brought someone back, it was a given that he had gotten into trouble again.
Feng Qi, when he was in a good mood, would hold the little guy and shower him with endless affection.
But when it came to punishment, he was truly severe.
Li Sheng felt as though he couldn’t fit in between the two of them.
Feng Qi had never paid much attention to the relationship between Li Sheng and his son.
He was still waiting.
And as time flowed on, his wait was about to come to an end.
