Lu Qingyan ignored him. He gently kissed Jiang Nanshu’s cheek, his voice gentle: “Wife, I’ll take you home. It’s too noisy here.”
Jiang Nanshu didn’t even have the strength to refuse.
He turned his eyes slightly, his icy expression undisguised: “Get him out of here.”
“Brother Yan, please, just let me see Nan Nan.”
“Get out.”
“Lu Qingyan! Don’t go too far! You’ve hidden her for five years, and now that she’s awake, you still want to hide her? What are you trying to do?”
Jiang Yunchuan struggled, held up by the bodyguards: “Let me go! I need to see her, just say one word, damn it, let me go!”
Only after the commotion subsided did Lu Qingyan turn his head, his eyes softening again: “The person who disturbed us is gone.”
Jiang Nanshu swallowed hard.
Something was wrong with Lu Qingyan.
But she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
Jiang Nanshu was only awake for a short time before she drifted off to sleep again.
In her dream, she was processing how five years had passed in this world when she had only been back in her original world for a little over two years!
When she woke up again, it was already the next day.
She lay on a luxurious, soft bed, her hands and feet regaining strength; she could move again.
Supporting her weak body, Jiang Nanshu groped her way toward the balcony. When she saw her surroundings, she couldn’t help but gasp.
It was a bit chilly outside, like early spring. The entire area was surrounded by thorny vines, and in Jiang Nanshu’s view, there was only this small patch of sky; she couldn’t even see into the distance.

The door behind her opened.
A gust of cold wind blew in, lifting the hem of Jiang Nanshu’s white skirt. She turned around abruptly and saw Lu Qingyan holding a plate, looking at her with indifferent eyes.
His gaze fell upon her bare calves, and his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.
He placed the things he was carrying on the table, then gently yet firmly carried Jiang Nanshu into the room and placed her on the bed.
His cool hands held her beautiful feet.
He softly advised, “The doctor said you need to rest well and avoid getting cold, so it’s best not to go to places like the balcony. What if you catch a cold in this cold weather? Once you’re feeling better, you can go to the garden to sunbathe, but don’t go too far, or I’ll worry.”
His gentleness was as if there were no grudges between them, and he had even forgotten what she had done to him five years ago.
Jiang Nanshu vividly remembered him running aboard in anger, and even the long period of cold war he had given her before she jumped into the sea.
Jiang Nanshu didn’t respond to him, but stared at him blankly.
Lu Qingyan didn’t mind. He gently blew on the hot porridge in the bowl to cool it down and fed it to Jiang Nanshu.
“The doctor said that you shouldn’t eat too much or drink too much right after waking up. It’s best to eat some light porridge first to help your digestive system adjust. I’ll cook something nice for you once your stomach gets used to it.”
He smiled, “Open your mouth.”
Jiang Nanshu wanted to speak, but her throat still felt blocked. She coughed lightly twice and finally obediently drank the porridge.
She was really too weak right now.
She was breathless even after walking just a few steps.
She wanted to talk to Lu Qingyan, but she was truly powerless to do so.
Lu Qingyan tucked her in and placed a light kiss on her cheek.
“Sleep a little longer. I’m going to the company. Be a good girl and wait for me at home.”
Jiang Nanshu really felt that Lu Qingyan had changed a lot, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
