TSFLIP Chapter 882

The man asked, “Miss, are you all right?”

“I’m fine.”
Fengguang lifted her eyes and saw a young man of thirteen or fourteen dressed in luxurious robes. He was handsome and refined, with the air of a polite gentleman. Given time, he would surely grow into someone capable of bringing disaster to a nation.

When the boy saw her face, his eyes lit up. He spoke gently and courteously, “Eldest Sister-in-law, don’t you remember me?”

“Wait… what did you just call me?”

“Eldest Sister-in-law. You don’t remember?” He looked confused. “I’m Xiao Shu—Baili Shu. I’ve only been away from the imperial city for half a year. How could you have forgotten me?”

Baili Shu… Fengguang searched through her memories and vaguely recalled what Feiyu had once told her: Baili Mo had a fourth younger brother named Baili Shu. Half a year ago, the old emperor had sent him to a temple to cultivate himself, but she hadn’t expected him to have returned to the capital now.

Fengguang looked at the boy apologetically. “I’m sorry. I was injured some time ago and forgot many things.”

“Forget other things, fine—but how could you forget me?” Baili Shu suddenly lost his calm, refined demeanor and started pouting like a child throwing a tantrum. “We were such good friends! Closer than I am with anyone else! I should be the last person you’d ever forget!”

Fengguang didn’t know how to comfort him. In truth, she had no real sense of the closeness he described, so all she could say awkwardly was, “Well… amnesia isn’t exactly something I can control…”

“Eldest Sister-in-law, I’ll make you remember me!” he declared excitedly. “I’ve done a lot of new paintings lately. I’ll take you to see them!”
As he spoke, he grabbed her hand and pulled her in one direction.

Fengguang hadn’t expected such strength from someone so young. She couldn’t break free at all. “Where are you taking me?”

“To my residence!” Baili Shu said with a grin. “You haven’t been there in ages!”

Although Baili Shu was still young and had not been granted a royal title, Baili Min had already awarded him his own residence. It was located in the liveliest area of the imperial city, perfectly matching his love for excitement. While this showed that Baili Min had long since removed him from consideration for the throne, it also made clear that he wasn’t unloved.

Baili Shu’s residence wasn’t far. They arrived in about five minutes.

The moment they entered, he led Fengguang straight to his painting studio. As soon as she stepped inside, she smelled a strong scent of ink. When the lamps were lit, she froze at the sight of the walls.

The studio was enormous. The walls were covered with paintings—all nude portraits. Men and women, children and the elderly. Their expressions varied, but most striking were the emotions conveyed through their eyes: shyness, anger, defiance. All of it was rendered in simple black lines.

“I painted all of these!” Baili Shu said proudly. “Everyone—even Father Emperor—says I’m wasting my time. But only you ever acknowledged me. You said my paintings were good!”

Standing amid this world of nude portraits, Fengguang found it hard to call it obscene. The flowing brushstrokes, vivid tones, and flawless human forms inspired only one feeling—astonishment, an overwhelming sense of awe.

She said in disbelief, “You painted all of these?”

“Yes!” He looked like an excited child, instantly glowing when talking about what he loved. His eyes shone brightly. “I painted every one of them. You said I was a genius!”
