Bei Yutang raised her feet and noticed the tightly clenched hand at the hem of her skirt. She squatted down and tried to pull it out, but she couldn’t open his hand no matter what.
A tear fell silently on his tightly clenched hands.
She picked up the knife from the table and gently slashed the hem of her skirt. The hem of her skirt was cut off, just like the string in her heart was cut off.
“I’m sorry.”
Bei Yutang left. Before leaving, she called Bei’s father and Bei’s mother on the other side of the ocean.
“Yutang.”
Bei Yutang heard the sound of a family of three having fun on the phone and heard Bei’s mother scolding her father and son.
“Please keep your voice down. Yutang called.”
The other end of the phone finally quieted down.
“Yutang, is your honeymoon over? Didn’t your honeymoon last too long? Hughes is the boss of a big company, so he will be very busy. You are free now, so don’t be exhausted when you come back.” Bei’s mother reminded her.
“We’re back.”
“That’s good. You should conceive a baby as soon as possible while you are young. It will be good for your health. You must not imitate some girls who don’t want children for the sake of their figure. Do you understand?”
Bei Yutang listened quietly to Bei’s mother’s chattering. Everything was considered for her, and she was thinking about it for her. She felt warm in her heart, but she felt guilty when she thought that she was leaving soon.
“Mom, I miss you.”
“You, kid, come back if you miss us.” Bei’s mother said with a smile.
“Mom, give the phone to Xiaobei. I have something to tell him.” Bei Yutang said in a low voice.
“Okay.”
Bei Xiaobei’s voice soon came from the other end of the phone, “Sister, what do you want from me?”
“You go back to your room now. I have something important to tell you. You can’t let our parents know about this.”
Bei Xiaobei’s heart trembled when he heard her solemn tone. He took the mobile phone and walked to his room. After entering the room, he closed the door.
“Okay, tell me.”
“I’m seriously ill and will die soon…” Bei Yutang explained the follow-up matters to him clearly.
“Remember, don’t contact Hughes. Don’t go to him.”
“Sister, are you lying to me? Did Brother-in-law bully you?” Bei Xiaobei didn’t believe it. He never believed it would be like this.
“Xiaobei, don’t think about it. Hughes is very good. I am sorry for him.”
When Bei Xiaobei heard the choked voice on the phone, he already believed her words.
“From now on, the Bei family can only rely on you.” Bei Yutang said in a deep voice.
“Xiaobei, remember not to go to Hughes. If our parents want to go, try to stop them. If you really can’t stop them, tell them the truth. Tell Sister, can you do it?”
Bei Xiaobei’s eyes were red, and tears fell from his eyes, “Sister, I, I can do it. Where are you now? I will find you.”
“Don’t look for me. I will go where I should go.” After saying that, Bei Yutang hung up the phone.
Bei Xiaobei listened to the beeping on the phone and kept shouting: “Sister, Sister, Sister…”
Just then, Bei’s mother’s voice sounded outside the door.
“Xiaobei, why did you lock the door? Open the door quickly.”
Bei Xiaobei wiped the tears from his eyes and shouted to his mother outside the door: “Mom, you are very noisy. I will give you the phone after I am finished.”
Bei’s mother stood at the door, looked at the closed door, and muttered unhappily.
“What are the two siblings talking about?”
As soon as Bei’s mother left, Bei Xiaobei hid in the quilt, suppressing his tears to prevent his parents from hearing.
