Three people got out of the car parked in front of the door, two men and one woman. The woman was Su Yi’s mother, Su Wanting, and the two men were Su Wanting’s newlywed husband and stepson.

It alludes to the proverb “It is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back”.

This gives rise to the phrase “the last straw”, or “the final straw”, meaning that the last one in a line of unacceptable occurrences causes a seemingly sudden and strong reaction. .

Su Yi, who felt abandoned and had no place to stay, committed suicide by drowning after being bullied again.

This was the original setting.

Now the core of the cannon fodder had been replaced by the big devil. Mao Tuan had given up thinking about what the subsequent plot would be.

The visitor entered the house.

After a long time, Grandma Qu called Su Yi downstairs: “Yi Yi, come down quickly!”

She responded, pulled her legs back, and jumped off the windowsill, putting on her flip-flops, and the wooden floor of the attic creaked under her feet.

In the living room, Grandma Qu was holding Su Wanting’s hand tightly. Her eyes were red. There were traces of tears on her wrinkled face, with a mixture of sadness and joy on her face.

Su Yi stopped at the stairs and called out ‘Grandma’. Feeling the gaze of strangers, she stood there stiffly.

“Yi Yi, your mother is back. Come and call Mom!” When Grandma Qu saw her, she wiped her eyes and waved repeatedly.

As soon as the words came out, Su Wanting froze. She didn’t say anything, nor did she look up at her daughter. She stared straight at the ground in front of her, with a numb and indifferent expression.

Su Yi pinched her fingers, walked over slowly, and called ‘Mom’ softly. Her voice was light and careful.

No one answered her.
